Of the remainder:

*Center - In nuclear fusion does just the nucleus fuse? If so the nucleus is the center of the atom

*Revolution - as Bob advocates

*Stream - in a fusion reactor you need a stream of particles, and in particle accelerators doing research which could lead to fusion I know they use a matter stream

*Unicorn - cold fusion is the energy equivalent

*String - general science connection

State - it's sort of a state of matter...sort of

*Life - in animals the fusion of biological material and genes propagates it

*Air - particles which are used in fusion are gasses

I don't feel amazing about any of these, I think the clue was tying Link and Cook and the other science-y words are broader. I guess Revolution is my lean but I'm also very happy to pass.

Reading spoilers the only word which rises in stature for me is Unicorn. Pegasus would be better but a Unicorn sort of fuses a horse and a...horned thing...plus there's the mythical/aspirational connection.

We could just declare Revolution (or another word, if others feel strongly) as our next guess and then pass. El Grillo can then either give us a three word clue if we're right and he wants to be a hero, or otherwise we can hopefully wrap this up with a couple pairs, while SD would need to score some pretty hefty combos to win first.

I don't favor passing. There is little point in stating a +1 guess on the first turn as there are still too many words left for El Grillo to take advantage of it. So we might as well just guess our last word.

I'm happy with Revolution.
