[NO PLAYERS] Raskol's log

also, I can ask for COL to SD within the next 3 turns and manually tech CS instead of COL (need to post about future trades and quotas) to hire a 14 merchants in the cap during the last turns of GA. If the GA from music is opened, that move could be worth it. noidea

Short preview... I am on holidays posting from phone but I am going to attack TBW in a couple of turns.

I will try to make a post before to detail the attack plan and the stuff going on though (hum, that is if the PSG makes it to the CL final). Cancer and Herpes ( rolleye) are the only ones defended. The rest have an archer or a longbow at best.
So if I don't f... up the first 2 turns of the war, it should be easy ("if"... which I am very capable of doing lol )

I forgot to post the demos last turn (these will drop as the GA ends so let's enjoy them now lol )

Note how we went from 6th to 2nd (first t135 iirc) in 6 turns...

Here is what TBW has,

in Herpes:

in Cancer (SoZ/HE):

We have several options, declaring t136:

1) Send the one movers to the deer camp (the stack is currently west of Dawn of War)
2) Send the one movers to the forest south of Herpes
3) Send the stack on the green hill south of the iron, to try to bet him in attacking it (though I have greater respect than that for TBW). He could be tempted to remove some troops from Herpes/Cancer maybe.

We have 20 knights SE of DoW, which can follow the main stack, or protect Cauldron, should TBW go this way.

1) feels like a loosy option. TBW would just destroy the stack.
3) feels better, but still loosy. More turns for TBW to whip CG3 LBs or worse. We can take the two southern cities with knights though.

Think I am gonna go with 2), the forest south of Herpes. I can start bombard and destroy the other stack with knights if he tries to reinforce or take the city right away.

edit: civics: I kept PS/vassalage/slavery to keep on building troops.

Question to lurkers (MP noob, right here nod ):

First in turn order or second?

I can see advantages to both, but is there something commonly seen as better?

Advantages of going first:
  1. Can use promotions for XP received defending on the previous turn
  2. Can use promotions for new units
  3. Can hide (newly produced) units from prying eyes
  4. Can track what your opponent has produced more easily
  5. You don't have to watch civstats for your turn
  6. *If logging in outside your half is allowed* Can use persisting vision given by airships/planes/floating eyes to log in after your opponent to see what they did
Advantages of going second:
  1. Whipped units will appear before your opponent plays
  2. Going second allows you to move twice before an opponent's builds complete. ie you can move HA/knights 4 tiles through culture before you have to deal with units built in reaction (thanks Krill)
  3. You can re-connect resources that were pillaged on that turn (thanks Donovan Zoi)
  4. *If logging in outside your half is allowed* Can track what your opponent has produced more easily
  5. *If logging in outside your half is not allowed* Can hide what you are researching the turn after you acquire a tech
  6. If you control a wonder at the turn roll in most cases you get the economic benefit (see PB42 where we repeatedly took the Great Lighthouse from Superdeath then let him recapture the city)

As a noob I declared for 1st in turn order in both 51 and 52 early in the games as a defensive measure because I knew the war was coming and where and wanted the extra half a turn to move in. 2nd half is usually considered better.

I can also land NE of Botulism t137 (roading 2E of that city)...

Thanks a lot Mjmd! bow  I will think about it.

Declared playing first (had to do a long drive and couldn't afford to wait more for TBW... which I am sure was waiting too lol).

Just took Herpes t137 loosing 5 trebs and a knight (killing 8 units iirc).

I will post some pics tmr (though TBW may have played meanwhile). Tonight, it's only tears after PSG loosing 1-0 to Bayern in CL final cry

We'll be back.
