Oh, yeah. A mile a minute, here. Actually, whenever I think about that little phrase, I always think "just say 60 miles per hour." Or 95 kilometers per hour. I wonder when that phrase appeared. Could it have been before the combustion engine was in widespread use (or use at all)? Maybe it should be changed to "a mile per nano-second" in this modern day and age.
*Ahem* Anyway, we'll see what will work with Levi, though I don't want to remove specialists too long. We are Philosophical, after all, and we should make use of that trait as much as possible. If our lands were more food-rich, I would have recommended switching into Caste System a while back. Unfortunately, most of our cities don't have enough food to run even one specialist.

Haha you do always manage to make me chuckle (when you're not slating my b-e-a-utiful empire... :neenernee )
Best source i can find, which granted is quite piss poor Wrote:There was a time when the world was agog over the prospects of a human being travelling faster than sixty miles an hour -- some even said that the human frame would be torn apart at those speeds.
A catchy way of saying or thinking about Sixty miles an hour was "a mile a minute', so it seems quite logical to apply that to someone speaking rapidly as in "She was talking a mile a minute". Or to someone moving rapidly or doing anything speedily.
Another phrase for someone talking rapidly and nonstop was to say, "Who put a nickle in you?" referring to the common coin to play the nickleodon or jukebox.

Just pooping in to say hi!
And what the hell is going on with the game? Has there been some bad double moves or something to spawn the new thread?
Obviously I don't know because I'm only allowed to see this thread mainly! Yes I am still only around for you guys :-).
Good job you are in separate games for PBEM4 or I wouldn't know who to cheer for!
We should have a 3 way game at some point!

Ok, well..
Egypt declared war on India.
England declared war on Inca
Ottomans declared war on Egypt.
Carthage declared war on India and Ottomans
Egypt declared war on Carthage.
England declared war on India and Ottomans.
Have fun understanding why but it's basically, as i understand it, sunrise and Krill both trying to manipulate the timer to best fit their civ.
3 way game sounds interesting. I'd probly get mullered as i happily make a super economy and you guys smash me and my zero military knowledge hehe.
TT, will definitely be interesting reading after the game. Very intrigued to see how a pro like Kylearan rears up a civ compared to my attempts lol.

Wow. The forum seems especially bad about notifying me when this thread gets updated. Well, we seem to be moving again? But I've been too occupied to check in. Need sleep, badly.

That's how I feel in just about every multiplayer game that I am in. I'm sure I mentioned that in PB2 only twelve times.
Kyan: Who are we rooting for? Are we rooting for anyone? Does it even matter to me since I'm handling domestic matters and keeping hands off diplomacy.
Oh, looks like . . . looks like I need to handle things starting tomorrow. Hmm . . . hopefully I have a 'net connection! I am taking a little trip tomorrow and Friday. And if I do, hopefully I'll be smart enough to dig up my own plan and follow it.

Carthage, Egypt, England, Mali and Maya are our allies in the PAT alliance.
Please try and keep up with the main diplo thread in the email. At some point we'll be switching over to full research and getting banking.
Ok chaps, i'm off. Take care and see you soon.

OK, it's Turn 122. Quick summary.
I gave away Education to someone. Hopefully they were a friend. Trade some maps, I know Krill was one of those. Kinda late. I just assume any trade that pops up is something I should do.
I'm not sure how no Workers are around Joshua. Well, I whipped the Library because it's growing into unimproved tiles. Got pretty good overflow. 146/90. I'll probably use that to go straight into a University since we get the 100% bonus for that, as well. Started a University in Genesis, as well, and Numbers. Leviticus has one queued up. Whipped the Courthouse. Seems it wasn't whipped the previous turn. We need 8 Universities to unlock Oxford. Hopefully we have a friend who will lend us Stone.
Definitely need to get Markets up all over the place, and more Courthouses, too, since we're doing bipolar research or whatever. Have we lost funding? We only have the one Market in the capital. *sigh*
I also queued a Library in Exodus, since it does have enough income to warrant it. We'll need to slip some infrastructure into the city between unit builds. Still have to rely on the whip for our other cities since they lack production.
Wonder how far we are from Astronomy, since Observatories allow another Scientist slot. Not that we've let most of our cities grow large enough to run a ton of specialists.

Hey, it's paused again . . . .
Maybe the next time there's a huge pitboss game, it should be "Always Peace" to avoid these glacial war situations.
Nothing else of substance to say at the moment.

Banking, but I think we're saving up for enough money to tech it at full power. We need 4 turns and about . . . . 280 gold to do that. I don't think we're getting funding any more.
Still need to check the e-mail thread. Still need to get some actual screen shots. Been pretty awful about that here. I think I'm a bit burned out on the pace of Pitboss.
Anyway, Banks will be good for us, and I would personally make them priority buildings in each and every city, at least, once we have Universities. Actually, we need at least one more city to get Oxford (we only have 7 cities, need 8 Universities to get Oxford). 8 Banks for Wall Street, probably. Actually, I think we should put Wall Street in Ruth. Each flood plain it works is +1 food surplus, so for every two citizens working, we can hire a specialist. A Market + Wall Street is 5 Merchant slots, I think. Market + Bank + Wall Street = 175% multiplier (though I'd get a Grocer here, too). 5 merchants = 15 gold base. You can do the math. Not quite as good as a Holy City, but it would help us keep the slider higher.
