Epic One - Rik's report

Not really. frown

I started this game and unfortunately had to let it die due to a combination of reasons. 1 of them was a wedding abroad in England. Another was an unfortunate case of misunderstandings between Realms and a different Civ-forum in which I accidently saw an early report which removed some of my fun.

I'll only post my last screenshot:

My strategy was to block of "my" west land off from the rest of the nations and then advancing there first. That ruined my economy. See my gold + gpt. And look at my research speed. Still 101 turns to go on Metal casting.

I need to learn to play better.

See my report for some help on what to do when maintenance is eating most or even all of your income. Some others have good examples, too.

The percentage of research isn't the big thing. It's the total beakers. 40% research can be as powerful as 80% research... if your total income is double the guy who is running at 80.

I'm sure things will work out better for you next time. nod

Hey Rik, thanks for tuning in ! smile Don't feel too bad, I think there are many people who found out that there is still a lot of room to improve (starting with me). We'll get to learn the game as we play more, hehe. Next time I hope that both of us will be able to complete the game on time and actually win it. As for the incident at CDZ, don't worry, the message was heard, and it won't happen again, I'm confident in that. I could have been spoiled a bit but didn't read that carefully, and there was nothing I remembered when I started my own game. wink

Yep. With each new game I play, I start seeing subtler patterns. Advantages in civil-oriented techs. Proper maintenance. Balances between building and fighting. Before I started these RB games, I was barely used to Noble. But now in Adventure 2, I'm actually holding my ground on Monarch, something I swore I wouldn't be able to do before.

And, of course, the reports are a hoot.
