RtR_5.1.0.0 Download thread

- Cornflakes has problems with 5.1.0.0 and so does OH
- OH mentioned that he also had problems with CtH in PB52

So this narrows it down to changes I brought over from CtH to RtR. I have to look at what these were. I assume that you both have the same problems with RtR 5.0.0.1, right?

I don't seem to have the problem with 5.0.0.1 (at least it loaded fine twice in a row), but I do with 5.1.0.0 and with the CtH from PB52.

Also happy to try files out.

Ok, here is the package: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xob4e2rtc3cbrv...g.zip?dl=1

Inside you will find multiple folders like these

1_[SomeNumberAndSignCombination]
2_[SomeNumberAndSignCombination]
3_[SomeNumberAndSignCombination]
4_[SomeNumberAndSignCombination]

Each contains a DLL that you can test. If you work your way down from 1_ to 4_ you will hopefully get to the point, where it's no longer loading. In that case tell me the folder name and I can see which change it is.

Thanks a lot for that.

1 works just fine.
2 works just fine.
3 fails twice then loads.
4 fails four times then loads.

It seems to crash after it says "Init engine" but before it says "Init fonts". So this text only flashes up when I successfully load it:

1 works
2 works
3 does not work (tried at least 10 times)
4 does not work (tried a couple times)

With 3 and 4 I do see Init Fonts flash for an instant before the loading screen disappears (just a quick flash, not long enough to grab a screenshot).

So that is very weird (again) and interesting.

With 3 I integrated some more game options like "No WW", "No unit gifting" etc.
With 4 I integrated the "Free win against barbs with a settler" thing from CtH

What is weird about this is that both 3 and 4 were not integrated in the mod version from PB52. crazyeye

Also you might want to enable logging. Maybe something will happen that points me in the right direction:

Also could you try setting "DisableCaching = 1" in the Civilization.ini file? Maybe that helps.

It might also be interesting if this bug only occurs if the mod is selected in Civ4.
Does it start if you use a shortcut to Civ4+Mod
(Shortcut to Civ4:BTS with following start arguments "[…]\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword.exe" mod="RtR_5.1.0.0" )

I tried most of the tests through shortcut as you describe. I only loaded through the in-game “Load A Mod” after the shortcut failed as a double-check that it wasn’t a shortcut issue.

I will enable logging when I have a chance to test more.

With logging enabled I got the following message:

I sent you a PM with the log files.
