Just because Darrell said that Trump is worse than Bolsonaro, I present you with the latest quote from the president of Brazil: "(the use of the) Condensed milk is to shove in the press' a**".

It's lovely to turn on the news and see these sentences thrown around, also funny (that is, sad) to try and guess what's the context on which such a thing was uttered.

I'm guessing the context is that your president is a degenerate.

Isn't Brazil the only country in the world that had the poverty gap actual decrease last year? Sounds like you have a congress that actually works, at least.

Anyone taking bets on how long it'll take the SEC to ban outsider trading?

Some of the clearing houses and brokerages effectively banned long positions this morning. Others raised their margin requirements. I understand the motivations and needs for the margin raise, but IIRC the last time a type of position was banned it had negative consequences once the ban was lifted.

Dutch here, past sunday there were protests against imposed curfew that went in saturday. Last time that nationwide curfew was imposed, was in WOII when Netherlands were occupied by Nazi's.
Now cabinet Rutte decided that lockdown didn't work well enough despite decreasing amount Covid cases here in Netherlands, citing more contagious British version of covid as reason and imposed curfew upon Dutch people.
Also Rutte's cabinet did resign several weeks due supplement affair where many parents (especially people of ethnic background) were duped, that affair damaged trust in government and set bad blood among people.
In March there is elections, till that time cabinet Rutte still governs over Netherlands with extra powers due Covid crisis.

Past sunday people protested against curfew, among protesters there were people who only came to demonstration for rioting and looting, especially Eindhoven was hit badly by rioters/looters past sunday.
The shocking images of Eindhoven riots at news sunday evening inspired youth mainly from poorer parts of various cities in Netherlands to do same. They were bored from able to doing nothing due lockdown and imposed curfew was last straw.
Sunday evening and monday evening there were rioting and looting in various cities, police got diffculty to deal with them all same time. But at tuesday evening police with some help of local residents were able to keep down any disturbance and since then it has been calm in Netherlands.

Next round of protests are excepted next weekend.

Jim Jordan not running, back to Solid R. Timing is fast enough that I'm suspicious. Maybe Portman agreed to Jordan to not run if he doesn't run? He gets to quit a bad job, while not exposing the seat and Jordan/Trumpism/GOP gets a rubber stamp in the Senate.

It's also possible that Jordan is angling for a leadership role within the House caucus.

I think the only thing that might put the seat back in play for Dems is if Tim Ryan runs, but even then he's not going to run 10 points ahead of Biden's 2020 run unless a miracle happens.

Well it seems despite losing the Presidency and two Georgia senate seats and (less important to them I’m sure) weakening our democratic institutions and precipitating an assault on the capital, the vast majority of the Republican party is still Trumpian shakehead.  Guess it’s time to shed my cherished independence and register as a Democrat.
