Also, what is up with mackoti. First he names himself 'u' in-game and now 'kan'. Is he trying to communicate something there? Like "You can"?

The scout revealed our coastline in the west. Now at first this looks like a safe backline, but this might not be that safe after all. The land you can see west of the rice under the fog seems to connect via my land through the jungle bridge in the north. At least that's what I could see from flying camera modus. I do suspect that somebody else might be on that side of the water.
So far I like the land to the west although it is a bit flat. Gold is great and will certainly help with teching. Marble is great and makes all those Marble wonders way more appealing. Next turn the borders will pop and together with the scout movement I will know more about the gold region.

I forgot to add that colossus gets more and more interesting as a potential wonder for me.

So the player formally known as u aka kan aka mackoti is now called KuN. Can't wait to see how this saga continues.

774 of Clock Town looks very good as city #3 once the capital zones the cow for it culturally. City #2 should be a hard food/production centre imo, possibly near the pig hill NE (I believe 5/1/x > 6/0/x early game, but don't ask me to reason why ). There's the option to settle #2 south of the western pigs instead, getting gold city started early with pigs, though that city also falls off a cliff in output until Colossus once it has to work crab/wheat only. But decent cottage filler (defensibility is poor obv.)
And watermill paradise, I'd say.
Imo avoid jungle with scout for now and swerve E. Guessing that's your plan already.

1SW of the gold was also on my mind. 1W of gold could work too and yes preferably after the third border pop of the capitol to bring the cow in. It also blocks of this part of land nicely so that I have some safe backlines to fill.
There's also the option to plant a Moai city 1SW of the marble, but that would require the southern crab to be placed 1W of the wheat.
In the east we still have the corn available, which might turn out a good second city spot, because at that moment we will have agriculture but no AH. Scout will reveal more when it explores the east.

First border pop, but unfortunately no new resources that we didn't know about were revealed. I forgot to put a sign, but the water tile east of the scout is also a fresh water lake. If the water N of the pig is also fresh water, then we have a lot of land in that direction.
Some interesting things from that:
- I'm not the only one going for work boat first working a plain hill forest
- Some people did not settle on a 2 hammer tile
- Some people settled on a 3 food tile like the sugar, how else could they have 6 food at this point in time
- Who's building warriors this early in the game? (6000 soldier points)

6000 soldiers could be due to someone starting with Wheel (4000 pts) + one of Mining/Hunting (2000).
I've thought it over and I believe that we should 3-city Oracle rush (AH, then Myst->Poly->Priest, delay Wheel) settling city2 4 of wheat and city3 774 of Clock Town (as the Oracle site), even almost regardless of what the east will reveal. Here's my rationale:
- CtH SPI/IND in a game where only one other player is IND (and a stronger GLH candidate) was made for Oracled Monarchy, making us a near-lock for the unique advantage to switch between Serfdom and Slavery at will from T55-60 onward; this also solves our problems with our traits not supporting early worker/settler development, especially since BtS EXP or equivalent does not exist for anyone
- our early workforce will be somewhat constrained, settling a triangle gives stronger worker micro in the short term (especially with delayed Wheel) and eases the stress on the capital as the sole viable worker pump for gold city in the east-west line scenario
- pig/wheat city is really not as marginal as I'd said -- short-term it will pump workers/settlers, then it can just whip military in Hereditary Rule forever, occasionally stealing pigs for regrowth; also a decent naval yard, or a city to produce a GP in early-mid game
- city #3 is so absurdly good once borders pop (and Oracle is our best way to do that) that we want this to happen very early, given that we missed the chance to pull a Krill, shun seafood, intuit mapmaker decisions, and wander along the river for some turns to settle a better capital than anyone else
- the plan is flexible: missing Oracle (somehow) will leave us with chopped failgold + gold mine for Metal Casting and go for Colossus; besides, while we're not in that good a position to grab Hindu/Buddhism, working the gold (and seafood) early might get us to Judaism first
- early gold mine alleviates the need for early cottages, and Serfdom allows us to catch up faster, then HR lets us work as many cottages (or watermills) as we want
- Oracle is a good way for us to make efficient use of all these forests early, and it looks like we're not exactly going to be short on them post-Maths on this map either
- (only a minor point) confirmed early access to marble makes Myst slightly more attractive for prereq bonus on Masonry
The city layout would be extremely forkable, but if the north-western jungle is a land chokepoint as you guess and since coastal cities are "always kind of forkable", I think it won't matter compared to the advantages. I'd roughly estimate that we'd need to get 2 settlers, 4 workers by ~T45-50. Aslo hopefully the 4th settler and 5th worker are out roughly by the time Oracle completes.
What do you think?
