[PB59] Charriu welcomes all the townfolk

Yes, it's all part of my little monster: PB59 micro planning tool

What I did there is taking my dotmap and plan out which tiles every city works at the growth level I want to achieve there. I also expected every city to make at least 1 commerce from trade routes. With all of that I just counted together all the commerce I earn per turn.

Then I calculate all the city maintenance, civic maintenance (based on estimated civics in play) and unit maintenance (based on an estimated amount of units). I already have all these calculations already in place in my turn planning tool which is the sheet 'CurrentMicro'. The TL:DR of what I did there was to reimplemented all the city and empire management calculations inside a spreadsheet. I more or less play civ 4 in a spreadsheet.

With all those calculations already at hand it was easy to pre-calculate all the maintenance costs for a bigger empire. And yes these numbers are essentially achieved when running 100% gold.

EDIT: If you look at my spreadsheet, know that you only need to adjust values in green fields and everything else recalculates.

EDIT2: My spreadsheet is so good by now, that I don't need to run an actual sim, which was my goal with this. I find it very tedious to iterate across all these different plans in-game.

Not that much interesting stuff happened in the last turns. The scout was busy healing, but since then has started exploring again. As you can see I found the borders of Laz's second city. I expect that the city is 1S of gems. Up north I also found the other landbridge behind Laz. I plan to cross that next and expect to find Ramk there. My theory about the north having no land bridge becomes more plausible. It really looks like Laz has similar land to mine, just rotated by 90°.

Back home the cap is busy growing back to 4 pop in order to double-whip the next settler. Crysta is also growing as fast as possible. I will finish Animal Husbandry next turn, which allows me to connect the pigs.

Lazteuq discovered The Wheel last turn. Unfortunately I won't be able to track if he discovered AH, but at least I will see were the horses are for him. It's important to track that for me, because I'm running a gamble here. Should he really try to do an Immortal rush then I will have somewhat off a problem as I will only connect copper to my road network around T70. I'm totally banking on my reputation as a stallwart defender and the Greek Phalanx. Also so far Lazteuq doesn't have explored my territory as far as I can see.

Animal Husbandry is in and I have exactly one horse on the main land. This will be a nice addition for the purple dot 1NW of it, which will be a production city. There's another horse on the jungle island to my SE.

Back in Lazteuq land I did not find any horse so far (and no copper either by the way). I'm tempted to explore more until I find it, just to make sure I get early warnings about possible rushs.

Thank you. The main part of this was built during PB40. With PB52 I adjusted it to CtH and with this PB I added the ability to assign specific tiles for every city. Before that I had to calculate the amount of hammers worked in the city in my head, which just led to some errors during that PB.

I got graphs on Ramk. He obviously already connected his gold, but he's not doing that well with crop yield. I double-whiped another settler in my capital, who will settle the gold city for me.

Back in Lazteuqland I found his horse, so I can keep track of that in the future.

I just found the cave of your "little monster".

Went bravely in and had a look and *BAAAM* was stunned by an unexpected blunt hit followed by a sharp knife through my neck and my brain just died. yikes

I can totally understand that. I'm probably the only person, who understands what and where to do. I never tried to make it user-friendly for everbody.

EDIT: If somebody is interested. I can give you a tour of it.

Some minor tension arising in the east. Throughout the last turns Lazteuq was chasing my scout with one of his warriors. Maybe he wanted to kill it. Way to start a peaceful neighborhood. Meanwhile as you can see I located his horse. Interestingly enough he opted to road the gems tile. Could he really have 3 workers with the last one farming the corn there. Iiam Well I will try to not get caught by him and move on towards Ramk in the north.

My third city was founded this turn and how fitting that I called it Amn, considering that it has the gold resource. For those who don't know. Amn is the main city in Baldur's Gate 2 (PC) and it is also called "City of Coin". Some may wonder why I chose Amn over the original games Baldur's Gate. This is for two reasons. First and simple I started playing Baldur's Gate 2 before 1 and therefore have more love for that part. Second is because I think it is the better city. There's a lot more visual variance between the different districts. It's a big and lively city and it definitely feels that way. Of course it also helps that there is already established lore about that city in the world of Faerun and in the previous game. I think nobody can deny that Amn is a memorable city.

Back to the PB at hand. As you can see I'm starting to fan out my warriors to fogbusting locations. Hopefully that way I won't have to deal with that many barbs. With all the lakes in my territory it should be a bit easier to fogbust it. The workboat from Clock Town will go exploring west. I decided to use a workboat for that, because that is a lot safer then exploring on land. Don't forget we disabled barb units on water for this map. In addition I hope to establish contact with a lot more players across the waters for some nice KTB. As you can see I'm also a bit light on workers (only 1), but I will build 3 more workers in the upcoming 15 turns and it's not like I have to improve that many tiles without access to cottages.
Back in Lazteuqland I continued moving my scout towards Ramk, who visited me with his scout last turn. Still Laztequ hasn't shown up with his scout, if it's still alive. Also in international news, somebody built Stonehenge last turn. So much for generating fail-gold with it, but I already had given up on that in my recent plans. Still nobody has founded Hinduism, interesting. Oh and last but not least. I'm the first to 3 cities out of the little group of players I have contact with (Lazteuq and Ramk, who is IMP)
