That's some fucked up shit SD. I guess you're doing well considering the circumstances.
The house thing sounds highly illegal, maybe someone from the US can give advice?

Got with a girl, things were looking up! Then her girl friend decided she didnt like me and because they both worked together convinced my girlfriend that i was talking to another girl, and that i had been abusing her dog. So, she broke up with me. She is hopefully paying back the 480$ i had spent on her dog for an emergency visit to the vet.
Also, due to my old boss hating me 2years ago, and making up reasons to get me fired (and then i got my job back 6months later) I had been behind on payments on my dream car due to lack of the same $ an hr in a job i got in the meantime. So, the car got repo'd. Now, they are garnishing my wages because for whatever reason... when your car gets repo'd the bank doesnt try and actually sell it for what it is worth but just what they can get. So i owed an extra 10k that is now being taken out of my wages each paycheck. I also received a certified letter in the mail from my mortgage company that even though they hadnt tried to reach me... they are wanting X amount of money or the house will be foreclosed.
Hows everyone elses summer going? Anyone else feel like the only escape from depression is when that email notification saying "hey the turn rolled!" ?

Hi SD. That all sounds really rough, I'm sorry. I can't speak for any of the US rent-law stuff. And maybe it's not my place to speak about the rest.

If this is hyperbole, that's totally fine. But if it's serious (which is also fine!), it sounds like the kind of thing that might seriously benefit from some professional help. And I say that as someone who's been there, not as a pejorative; it really does help. Regardless I hope you feel better soon.
My summer is currently winter, and it sucks. But at least the lockdown came just as the weather got crappy; silver linings, right? We were looking for something to do, and you actually inspired us to build a small aquarium this week, from your posts a few months ago.

professional help requires professional dollars sadly.

Everything I know about bankruptcy is from John Oliver:
Maybe it helps you avoid some traps.

I know many people who have experienced great emotional relief and eventual financial success after filing. Best of luck.

Update:
Bankruptcy is more or less finished. Waiting on final court hearing with the creditors, but its all been filed. Losing house, but moving in with grandparents while i hopefully save some money.
Other situation is at work i collapsed of Heat Exhaustion, and my local hospital decided to say that i had a seizure (i have seizures but only in my sleep) So, according to Iowa Law.. i cant drive for 6 months following a seizure. Neurologist cannot confirm or deny if it was one, so work isnt wanting to accommodate because it could have been a non-work related incident. Also because a decent portion of my job is driving.. and because of Covid they cannot just drive the carrier around.
Hows everyone else been?

Good luck with all of that, superdeath! I'm glad you can move in with your grandparents, at least. Work not wanting to accommodate your health-based inability to drive sounds very sketchy; the ADA rules requiring "reasonable accommodations" don't depend on whether your medical condition was work-related or not. (Worker's Comp is a whole different matter, obviously.)
I've had a bit of an interesting week. The most exciting part was breaking up a fight - probably a domestic dispute - on a semi-lit sidewalk as I was walking home on the 4th of July. A middle-aged man was in a shouting match with a middle-aged woman who had a small girl in one arm and was leading another small girl by the hand. When he took a swing at her (I was still most of a block away at that point, but it looked like he had his shoe in his hand and swung that at her!) I shouted to get his attention, and there was fortunately no physical violence after that. He did say he was going to "kill you!" (I think to her) when I got close enough to discern words clearly over the noise from the nearby freeway, and when the woman asked me (still yelling) to stop him at that point, I spoke to him, and he added (looking at me) "I'll kill you too!" I managed to de-escalate the situation just by communicating with him (not shouting; the kind of shouting they were doing is not communication) while she was hurrying away with the kids, and he was calm again when he walked away, in the same direction, but not at speed. I feel really bad for those kids. I suppose I could have tried to stall him longer, maybe even long enough for the police to arrive (I don't think he noticed the nurse from the nearby hospice on her cell phone with the emergency dispatcher) but I don't know - and I don't know if that would actually have made the situation better or worse....
