Whipping is an interesting beast; 1 face is generated when you whip; it doesn't matter if it's a 1-pop whip, or a 10-pop. As a result, we often like to optimize for double-whipping, it's a nice happy place for us. Overflow is something we also like to look at; the archer whip was planned to allow perfect overflow so a second archer popped out next turn. TBS is being passive, so no biggie in this case, just chalk it up to learning.

I thought I was being helpful but it was a perfect storm for drawing the wrong conclusion because the other whips were for just the amount and I think in all civ games I've played overflow is lost in similar situations. Should have just followed the instructions rather than improvise No trouble, like I said it can be a learning experience. I can take the turn tonight, thanks for keeping this going, again.

In news related to my theme, r/mapmaking is GREAT:

Okay, we have a 3-way war split: Superdeath->TBS->me. This might reasonably be expected to slow things down. HOWEVER, 30 minutes after TBS finished this morning, I played and rolled. Superdeath is playing now, 64 minutes after I logged out. Between the two of us, we are taking 2 hours of the clock. Anyone want to guess if TBS manages to grace us all his playing presence in the next 22 hours?
Does someone need to talk to TBS? Is he demoralized?

Sorry for the low reportage, it's been hard being at the tail end of the split when TBS waits for 40+ hours to finish his own turn. Everyone is always waiting on me every single turn. Anyways, I cleared his trireme push into my own seas so I could safely wine trade.
Generated a great general, so I sensed an opportunity... 4-move galley, morale-promoted praet... Gotcha. It's a size eight city, nothing to sneeze at. ...but nonetheless, I'm annoyed. If I'd had TIME the turn before I could have set up a proper Witchcraft turn; three warriors protect that big Moai city. I could have tossed pair of praets at it, pushed in a third praet, promoted to morale, then killed the third warrior and burned his second-or-third best city. Instead, this.

I'm either going to be holding up the game for everyone or I'm handing over the game to the top seed here. I'm officially hating this. :-/

Uh oh. I researched Optics, but I'm not seeing the extra c-nav routes. Would it be kosher to PM Charriu?

The game makes the checks for circumnavigation + possession of Optics prior to processing tech at EoT, so the bonus trade routes should show up next turn.
Bingo, that was it. Constant grinding stalemate means my Optics and TBS (nee Donovan)'s Optic land the same turn.
...still, ABA: Always Be Attacking. Little city get rebuilt, and then gets burnt again. MY ISLAND, thus, my straight. It's a pretty key piece of geography.
