Maybe you could add extra MP to magical users or let them regenerate during combat as well (although most magical users have low health, so regen doesn't really help them that much).
Allowing it to also be cast on your cities would be like an upgrade to heavenly light and a good way of protecting magicians from fire storm and blizzard as they would regenerate at the start of the next turn if the city wasn't conquered.
It is very favorable to specific kind of playstyle. So it could be very useful or completely not at all. And even without ability to cast, you still get conversion of resistance to melee, which very useful for race which have resistance bonus too but that only half of what spell could do.

As you said, it doesn't really help magician type units that much, being there mostly just to help a magician garrison defend against attrition.
It's not much use if you don't get Archangels as well though. There's no synergy with phoenixes as they have regeneration already.
Also two very rare spells + 70 combat skill and mana to get something not much better than a Behemoth doesn't seem like a great deal. I'd still prefer High Prayer if there are non-magical units in the stack with a few Archangels.

I'm sure it's useful in certain situations, but it's nowhere near as good as say High Prayer. Life does have some other weak very rares though like Call to Arms and Ruler of Heaven.

Ruler of heaven is no longer weak: grants 100% dispel resistance to unit and city buffs now

Yeah I definitely don't agree with the Very Rares added to Life in CoM, Call to Arms in particular is a pretty bad joke and giving a spell to boost research of all things at Very Rare feels.. uh, quite pointless? I don't get the point of Destiny either, is it meant to be an anti Sorcery tool or what?

Is there any setting in units.ini that allow unit attack to be area attack damage like fireball?

Are there any plans to provide explanations for the CoM 2 specific spells in the manual? I would like to know for example the reasoning behind Destiny or Blazing Eyes.

What would be your reaction to this? Ok, not really a random question, just wanted to share this moment. I don't normally play summoners so I've not experienced this before. I'm trying a game as a mostly death wizard right now. "HOLY SH!T" summed it up for me!

Yes... death is vulnerable to great unsummoning due to your large undead hordes.
This is the "fun" part of playing to the late game when very rares are in play.
It happened in my game -- I think I lost 2-300 units. Most should be irrelevant -- but your skeleton and undead normal units garrisons no longer work. It should generally hurt other AI's worse though -- as the AI generally relies on summons more than the human.
You really need resist magic with death to deal with this... So 1 book of sorcery is a must.

She's cast it a few more times and has wiped all all the normal units I took with siphon life. Also got a few of my wraiths and vampires (even with resist magic). That first time caught me completely by surprise, it even left a few mana nodes unoccupied. Despite it being bad for me, it was kind of a cool gaming moment.
I finally was able to trade for resist magic. I can't remember if I started without a sorcery book but I may have. I hate playing without it but like I said, I was trying a different type of game than I normally play.

Yes, luckily with 13 players it's pretty reliable to trade for the most important common spells.
It should be much worse for the AI's... They usually see much larger drop in the army strength than the player. And they can't really reliably rely on resist magic to keep the important undead units alive.
