PBServers are currently down because of an update of Wine.
Now the servers can not be loaded again and I need to check how this can be fixed.

Sorry, I didn't found a solution yet. Maybe I need a day to fix this problem.

Technical background:
I use xvfb-run to start Civ4 with an virtual framebuffer. Somehow this does not work anymore and also fails if I start notepad.exe instead of Civ4.
Rolling back a few releated packages did not solve the issue.

The good news is that an other user can start notepad. Thus it is somehow related to the account I'm using for the PB games.

I have to assume its always some windows/ect update that causes these things to happen. Have you tried turning it off/on again?

On a serious note: Steam codes still the go-to way to pay since Paypal went a-stray when it and Zulan crossed ways?

After solving the first issue I stumbled into the next. OpenGL+Wine is a fine combination … until it breaks. hammer

The good news is that a rollback of some (well, many...) packages works. Thus we can open the gates again at least until Christmas. Maybe I will use the time between Christmas and New Year to create a docker image for the PBServer. smile

Yes, I assume Steam codes are still the easiest way to support the running of the servers.
