Goalie 4

Not really a sports person, and none of the words look dead obvious, but got a few ideas:

* Cover; a goalie covers a net or whatever

* Washington; Washington DC has a hockey team with a goalie, may a soccer team too.

* Capital; actually, I think DC's hockey team is the "Capitals".

* Pound; goalies fight people, maybe? Could also be some sort of goalie-adjacent sports term.

* Greece / France / India all field sports teams with goalies, though idk how we'd pick one over the others.

Not a big sports person, either. Let's see how this goes.

COVER - This looks to be the strongest word. Goalies COVER the goal.
SOUND - The loudest cheers happen when a Goalie is defeated and the other team scores.

Everything else is a bit speculative:
BOLT - Every so often, a player takes possession of the puck/ball and makes a break for the other team's goal/Goalie.
Also, the goalposts are in some sense BOLTed to the ground and to the net?
DICE/ROULETTE - The idea that penalties/shoot outs are a bit of a crapshoot for the Goalie, you pick a direction to dive and hope for the best.
LAWYER - There is sometimes a lot of LAWYERing around the technicalities of point scoring.
AMBULANCE/POUND - There are injuries and fighting among players, but Goalies are maybe the least likely to get involved?

I don't like place names for teams, as there are so many of them: FRANCE/GREECE (football/soccer), NEW YORK/WASHINGTON (ice hockey), INDIA (field hockey).

I am also not a sports person, and I felt like a lot of my guesses were pretty in the dark.

INDIA, GREECE, FRANCE are all countries that could field a goalie in a team. Maybe particularly the European ones for football (I relate India more strongly to cricket).
COVER is what a goalie does to a goal.

In a Penalty Shootout, the goalie is forced to BOLT in various directions. The same shootouts can be ROULETTEs (that is super tenuous and unlikely).

That's about all I have, and we're all over the place. lol I'll start with COVER, since we all mentioned it. Afterwards, I'm inclined towards FRANCE and BOLT the most, I think.

Point to COVER.

Another thought, do goalies jump around like NINJAs?

Bolt makes as much sense to me as anything, so maybe we should go for that next? After that, slight preference for Pound, and then I'd ignore the various location-based options since none are necessary better than any other, and pick Capital, since I'm like 95% sure the Washington Capitals are a hockey team, and therefore have a goalie.

Point to BOLT

Neither of you like SOUND? That's still my pick.
