I suspect Ninja is red, maybe Mint as well, though less sold on that than I think they are.

I won't protest if we go for Mint next, but would prefer Day; for our remaining sports word, I think it's likely either New York or where's some special term in hockey represented by one of the remaining words which none of us are aware of (like Roulette or something).

NINJAs are masters of the night, so that probably was a pirate-clue and not anti-clue as I thought. The only other word with an obvious link is DAY, but again I find that to be more of an anti-clue. Will think some more on this one.

NINJA and DAY both sound right to me and they both can fit the pirate clue with again Pirates vs. Ninja and as a stretch fourth Talk Like a Pirate Day and the only other one I see as possibly working is NEW YORK for the city that never sleeps but that feels more tenuous and doesn't really have any connection to the prior Pirate clue.
