Simple in-game cheat?

How about recreating the simple in-game cheats (Alt+RVL; Alt+Magic)?

I think they still work. I think it's ctrl-shift-c or crtl-alt-c when in the magic window to enter debug mode, which allows various cheats. Alternatively, set debug on in modding.whatever ( I forget the file type).

You can toggle debug mode on and off in the Wizard screen with Ctrl+Shift+S. All cheat codes will then be listed on the main screen e.g.: Shift+O to reveal the overland map or Shift+P for power.

That is very helpful. However, is there no way to make me more powerful without, at the same time, strengthening everybody else?

Sure. For example, you could change HumanStartingGold in difficulty.ini.  popcorn

Is there a simple way to increase the number of initial picks for the player, without increasing the AI as well?

During lunch break today I came up with a kind of solution. Overwrite 4 files in your data folder with the attached ones. Then start a game on Beginner difficulty once. From now on, all opponents should always be equipped with the 4-pick Charismatic retort. You can use 16 picks for your custom wizard with up to 6 retorts. ;p
