Speaking of mens rae, here is an article from today. Just you know having emails that say that even though they were filing a court case they didn't believe it themselves

So we were talking about checks in place for voting and local news put a basic article out on how ballots are counted. So the main check I identified was one ballot per voter who voted. To me this was the obvious "your just recounting fraud" logic buster. You can't really just "dump" ballots; it has to match the # of people who voted.

Local election officials conduct two separate audits after Wisconsin elections to look for count inaccuracies and identify cases of vote ineligibility or fraud.

To note for #10 two separate audits is the NORMAL process and doesn't take into account the extra audits and recounts. 

Also, I believe at some point I pointed out the importance of paper ballots, which is basically number 7, but also having an overall paper trail means you can look for variances at a local level. 

7. Every vote has a paper trail.

Wisconsin requires a paper record of every vote that’s cast in our state, no matter what kind of ballot or voting equipment is used.

I just wanted to put this out there as I was literally spit balling off of my basic auditing knowledge before. Keep in mind this is a very simplified article, but I thought it was worthwhile.

Also, wanted to throw out a reminder that republicans tried to overturn the election, were stopped by many Republicans at multiple levels, but most of the ones that stood up for our democracy have been silenced or forced out and/or replaced with election deniers. VOTE. Remember the logical fallacy's of tu quoque and equality. There literally shouldn't be anything else your are voting on this election. We need two healthy parties and the current republican party isn't and the only way they will change is getting beaten.

I mean in the grand scheme of thing of course not. But you look at the German economy & inflation issues vs our current ones = embarrassing comparison. Hitler was capable of stringing a couple of sentences together without giving away his plans or sounding completely incoherent = embarrassing comparison. Like when I'm telling my kids about the downfall of our democracy literally all I'll have is "we were just really really really stupid."

USA is on the edge of falling apart imo. I see no way for progress, at best dems will only delay the worst. Corporations own the politicians, and corporations only purpose is to make profit. That's how I would explain the downfall. You need stronger checks in place for a capitalist country to not come to this state eventually. Maybe the next constitution will be better when West North America and North East North America are founded by former blue states

I would argue corruption was MUCH worse in late 1800s in the last gilded age. The difference is there was a massive swing in voters caring and therefore accountability. People always forget democracies take work from a massive base of voters. Yes voters should care more about corruption; it comes from having so many "safe" seats. Again, voter accountability is the other pillar of democracy. But yes if we can't hold a party accountable for trying to overthrow our democracy and continuing along that path our chances for accountability for corruption is so much less.
