That's a 21 minute speech with wrongly encoded audio. Some people might consider it a symbol for this administration's problems to get their message across.

This recent New York Times headline offers a perfect prospective epitaph for America's ailing democracy and its potential imminent demise: "Voters See Democracy in Peril, but Saving It Isn't a Priority."

The details are grim. Voters "overwhelmingly believe American democracy is under threat, but seem remarkably apathetic about that danger," with relatively few calling it "the nation's most pressing problem," according to a new poll conducted for the Times by Siena College. More than one-third of independent voters in the poll "said they were open to supporting candidates who reject the legitimacy of the 2020 election," because economic concerns were more urgent. While 71 percent of voters agreed that "democracy was at risk," only 7 percent said that was the country's most important problem.

I mean its the logical fallacy of equality. Americans just kind of expect democracy to be there..... and therefore don't place the value they should on it. I'll say even taking AP US history here I didn't fully understand why democracy was important until I started studying other histories. Like even taking AP world history you tend to just skip around to the highs and big events and the reason democracy is important tends to be the lows of countries histories.

I'll also say speaking of messaging Democrats have done a horrible job pushing back on economy and inflation. I think the infrastructure bill among other initiatives should have been all over. Its something that will help our economy for years to come and long overdue and A LOT of Republicans voted against even the extremely watered down version that ended up passing.

Arizona’s current Republican A.G., who voted for Trump, investigated allegations of fraud in the 2020 election and has a word for those claims: “Horseshit. That’s what it is. Most of it’s horseshit, and I’ve been trying to scrape it off my shoes for the last year”

Brnovich claimed there was no one else in the U.S. who wanted to find fraud more than he did and, as “60 Minutes” noted, he’s brought “indictments in every 2020 vote fraud case that he can back with evidence.”

This effort, the news program said, amounts to indictments of 12 people involving 12 ballots across Arizona.

Brnovich, in response to a claim from election-denying Arizona Secretary of State candidate Mark Finchem, later said he deals with facts and evidence as a prosecutor.

“And I’m not like the clowns that throw stuff against the wall and see what sticks,” said Brnovich before a clip of Lake denying the result of the 2020 election aired. “It’s like a giant grift in some ways.”

And yet the Arizona race is a toss up   . Again the EASIEST (but far from the only) way to know that all the election lies were false and that republicans attempted a coup is that MULTIPLE Republicans in multiple states stood up for democracy and admitted the truth even if they did so reluctantly. The main problem is the people currently running for office very are fine with accepting shit thrown at the walls.

It looks like Trump will run for president again in 2024. My guess for Democrats is Gavin Newsom. But whoever it is will win easily in a fair election.

If Republicans fail to win the Senate that will be the second time in a row Trump cost them control, and he may not be able to win the nomination.  Unfortunately, it looks like the Democratic plan to back fringe candidates in a bid to hold onto the Senate will fail spectacularly.  Trump would beat Biden in a fair election, but that's it.  Okay, also Jimmy Carter .

I still think Trump is the only candidate Biden COULD beat. Biden is just super old and isn't as charismatic as politicians need to be now a days.

This has gotten spicier. Trump wants to run for sure, but some Republicans are turning on him after the terrible election results. Let's see if it's not too late to purge him. You know the saying "don't stick your presidential candidacy in crazy"

Very happy to be wrong about that. Two elections in a row Trump has cost Republicans big time, but if history is any indication the base will not hold him accountable.

What I'm happiest about is the decrease about "fraud" accusations ect. I know Trump is still out there spewing along with some of the people who lost, but specifically Fox isn't giving them the attention this time around (or it doesn't appear so from my brief glances).

I'm also curious when the dust settles if any one finds a comparison with 2014 or 2018 district maps if Republicans even take the house. I know 50/50 WI now has 6R to 2D............ But as I've stated gerrymandering is merely a 2nd tier threat and shame to our democracy.
