Good Game Snap, that stack you sent againist the Romans was niccccccce! I don't we will see many that manage to take as much land as you did.
Great report, you definitely have the largest territory I've seen yet, and some exciting warfare. Good use of spies, too, several reports used them to good effect to slow their rivals, I need to try that in my next game.

To get a win out of it on top of that, vs a runaway England, is doubly sweet. All these victories... I may have to ratchet up my definition of an Extreme Adventure! - Sirian
Fortune favors the bold.
I'm certainly shocked that I turned out to have one of the most (if not THE most) militaristic game out there. I completely overtook two civilzations and even with all that land barely squeaked out a win. When I started the game, I figured everyone would be opting for some sort of militaristic land grab, if for no other reason than to get better land than the starting plots. I am amazed at the winners who played essentially peacefully the whole game. I expected there would be at least one or two domination/conquest victories actually.

I also have trouble alternating between game speeds, in epic 1 I was going crazy when it was taking me 20+ turns to research a tech like iron working. I was just not used to epic speed and like you said it make it difficult to get a "feel" for your relative strength. Just gonna have to play more games
Hi,
great game! I'm glad I wasn't the only one walking the path of war, but you did it better than me! Impressive amount of land you got there in the end. I also note waging war slowed both of us down in the end, but I never was in such a tech hole as you had been, so...well done! I think you also were the only one making successful use of jags. There are two kinds of fools. One says, "This is old, and therefore good." And one says, "This is new, and therefore better." - John Brunner, The Shockwave Rider
So I eventually read your report too. Very impressive ! You seem to have taken the right decisions at the right moment several times in your game, and that's what you should be proud of. Indeed, our games really differ, because I just hate being late in science, and I know that over-expanding is the way to lose ground. But getting that much land is the investment for a late-game scientific bloom, whereas I myself wondered how much time I would be able to compete with my few junky cities. It's a bit weird, because I always emphasize investment in games, but in Civ4 this concept of investment is totally rethought !!! Anyway, I think you're ready for higher-level games.
