SO again, the logical fallacy of equality (base tu quoque). Imagine a grand canyon full of shit. That is the Democrats; its A LOT. But if the alternative is a Pacific Ocean full of shit. Its not great to vote for a grand canyon full of shit, but better than letting the ocean of shit gain permanent power.
In an IDEAL world people would A) Vote (including primaries and then B) not vote party line and instead vote in the order below:
1) Is a party actively threatening to overturn the democracy. Vote against them.
2) Is a party undermining democracy. Think voter suppression and gerrymandering. So at this point in states like New York if the 1st condition hasn't been met and you trust the other side to not do the same, vote Republican (and to be clear I don't trust them right now).
3) High levels of corruption. You can definitely find this on both sides.
4) Low levels of corruption combined with high level political issues. Can also start factoring in general intelligence level of candidates.
5) If for some reason its still tied lower level political issues.

Sadly, very VERY few politicians are for the people rather than for their own wallet. I dont vote at all, because in the end nothing changes. Electoral college sucks, gerrymandering sucks, not having a better voting system (runoff/ect) is at this point just hysterical.
And even if i wanted to vote, im fairly sure that my district will always vote X. No matter what.
If you throw out the most recent overthrow stuff/jan 6th/ect, both parties ARE fairly equal. Republicans are too religious and "typically" align with big business. Democrats are too progressive at times, and imo really hate freedom of speech.
Heading to bed now, will continue this in the mornin'

Don't throw out overturning Democracy. EVER. Again, even if you think Republicans were right on EVERYTHING else, you should vote Democrat on this one thing.
Sure 1 vote doesn't make a difference, but that is why you need A LOT. Its not like anyone would expect Georgia to go purple 10 years ago. That took WORK. It took convincing a lot of people like you, that you know what you should vote. And man is there a lot of voter suppression to work through in Georgia. BUT they did it, at least for some very key senate races multiple times now. If you look at the end of last gilded age, it took WORK. People think there is just some natural progression towards freedom and democracy and that isn't at all the case. People have died and are dying for the right to have a vote, don't take it for granted.
Do Democrats hate freedom of speech or do they just hate hate speech? Because usually when republicans complain of getting "cancelled" ask what they were saying (and of course as you can still hear them clearly they still have freedom of speech and its just SHOCKINGLY companies don't want themselves associated with hate speech and not actual Democrat led gov intervention.
As far as Democrats being too progressive, in California in some areas yes. Everywhere else they are basically the conservative party of every other first world democracy.

Ya this is going to be a great 2 years
Quote: first legislation he plans to tackle will repeal funding for more than 87,000 new IRS agents
I realize this is only 3rd level, but just saying your first priority is making sure the wealthy can cheat on taxes is just some serious facepalm. And you know its going to get blocked, so you are just letting the American public know where you prioritize are for the lulz $$$$$$. Maybe McCarthy has more balls than I've been giving him credit for.

Yup. Every American should be voting against the party that overturned democracy when they illegally changed rules, illegally commingled ballots, and illegally applied acceptance standards in efforts to steal an election to their side.

Yeah, we've had these discussions and your arguments are horribly flawed and I'm not relitigating the past 1,000 posts in this thread.

When you live in a state that has the majority of their voters being older folks (who imo shouldnt be able to vote after X age) They happen to have all the free time in the world to go vote on non-issues, while the rest of us have to work. For WHATEVER reason, we dont have a national "Go VOTE day" of some kind.
The definition of what is considered hate speech keeps getting moved. Im going to sound like a god damn boomer, but back in my day it wasnt nearly as bad. People didnt get offended by every word that came out of someone's mouth. People could joke and if someone didnt like it, OH WELL. Not every joke is for everyone. Now, im obviously not FOR hate speech. I just hate (lol) that the culture has become overly PC. Listen to Doug Stanhope or George Carlin to basically get my point of view.
The Democrats or at least those leaning more left, being in favor of allowing kids to not only dress up as say, a cat at school. But DEMAND that they be given a litterbox ect.. thats going too far. I dont care what someone does once they are an adult. One of my best friends is a bi-sexual furry whom i was his best man/+1 at his courthouse wedding. I support his right to be into that. Kids are different. They are highly impressionable (talking about the furry stuff here). Hence why i believe that our military budget should be cut in half and that money ALL be given to the education system (bit of a stretch but keep following along), some of my more.. chaotic? views are that it should be illegal to indoctrinate kids into religion. (or anything else that is fairly common sense)
The following is a short clip from Doug Stanhope on 1 such word that i personally believe shouldnt be offensive (when used as directed, and not against)
Again, i mean no offense to anyone in my post(s) just stating how i feel on these issues.

I have yet to see an example of corporations "cancelling" someone that I didn't think "ya I can see why a corporation didn't want to be associated with that. While I've heard Democrats speak out against hate speech, I am unaware of examples of the government directly forcing silence.
In general you are talking about "culture war issues". One of the reasons history needs to be learned is for this kind of garbage. I'm pretty sure the litter box thing was 100% made up rumor and then propagated outrage. This kind of crap ISN'T NEW. A lot of times in history if you look at examples of oppression and hatred towards X group you will find a weak political situation where whomever is in charge doesn't have actual solutions. People think for instance that Christian oppression happened all the time and that isn't the case. They were barred from public offices, but most of the major atrocities happened under two Roman emperors who were having a lot of issues in the empire and needed a scapegoat to distract the populace. There is a reason Republicans hate history, you learn these kind of patterns.

Yes, history needs to be taught. No matter how bad it may look to one side or the other/ect. That is a mark against the republicans, along with the whole bunch of nutcases that believe that the civil war was over "States rights, not slavery!"
