See, if me and my 12 gauge were there..
Then what, exactly? The first person you see gets their brains splattered against a wall? Or you check for a gun first and kill another vigilante, an armed teacher, or a cop? Or you demand identification and get shot yourself? In the chaos, the only person who can operate freely is the one who doesn't care who they shoot. I hope that's not you.
I guess my sarcasm wasnt obvious enough. lol

Yeah, im a bit... tricky. Im pro-gun rights, but not pro-NRA style stuff. In my eyes its a fine line between enough gun control that we dont have school shootings, and not having so much that we cannot protect ourselves even if its in futility, against the government.

Our government is the #1 military on the planet, so its not happening that a bunch of idiots overthrows a future tyrannical gov with assorted guns they fancy. If there were ever a serious civil war where the military got split you can bet 100% there would be guns (and more) being supplied from various global powers, so you don't need to prepurchase. So ya, that pro gun talking point is also stupid as hell.
Again, I'm not opposed to us being a gun society, but if we are going to be, enacting Swiss and Finnish style regulations IS A MUST. Republicans are fully in the pockets of the NRA however (and there are also voters out there who are very entrenched (purposefully) on this issue).

I doubt that people can stockpile more ammo that any gun uses in a day in an actual conflict.
Something like drone making, bomb making, and incendiary / cluster / thermobaric weapons are far more useful in an actual conflict. Plus everything hinges on the status of anti-air and artillery assets as the recent conflict has shown it.

Well Wisconsin did a good job in the most expensive supreme court race ever. We couldn't quite flip senate district 8, but we came closer than I thought we would. The flipping of the supreme court race is a big deal on issues like overturning the election, gerrymandering, and abortion.
Speaking of district 8 here is the map of my state senate district. Swear there is no reason it hooks along northern side of Milwaukee and then west into several heavily Republican areas.

Did district 8 swing red or blue?

Its been red since those maps were instated. It did not flip, but it was 51% - 49% which isn't the 54%-46% it was in 2020 and mind its not a high turnout election.
Edit: 2012 & 2016 Republicans ran UNOPPOSED in this district by the way because it was considered so safe.

So Bayside, River Hills and I guess Glendale voters are effectively disenfranchised by pulling in just enough red areas. I really hate gerrymandering, and wish we had proportional voting at the federal and state levels.

Oh btw the only reason this was in an April election is because the old state senator announced retirement in November 2022 after that election. Definitely not suspicious at all to kick it to a lower turnout election..
