Here's one such poll: https://nypost.com/2023/12/16/news/major...-to-hamas/
I generally don't put much trust in polls, since the sample groups and wording of the questions can be wrangled to manipulate outcomes. What I did observe is that youth protests brought out plenty of affluent college students who were open in calling for the decolonization of Israel. Groups of young affluent college students generally have history of getting what they want in this country, although it does take time.

It is a very small sample size (just over 2K and I couldn't find number of participants by age bracket) and there are some inconsistencies. That poll also has 69% agree that Israel has a right to exist (in the age bracket listed in article), which is honestly still low. There are other similar inconsistencies in answers.
In any case I think the correct response is "I don't want either ended". Its really too bad the 2000 peace talks fell apart. So close but so far.

Regarding Israel, It should of course be allowed to exist. The bad folks they are killing is probably a good thing overall, but the collateral is too much. When you are faced with overwhelming force, you hide behind what you can to survive or make your enemy look bad. Pretty simple there.
Im in what could be considered the "young" bracket. No jew hating anywhere that ive seen.
Also a small note, i might be alone in this.. but Hitler/holocaust being the worst thing in living memory, when Japan murdered far more people in China but it doesnt get talked about. Obviously both were horrible, but the Chinese really got it in the ass and didnt (as far as history remembers) get as much publicity.

Err...no? Most young people think a) genocide and ethnic cleansing of jews is a bad thing and b) the plight of the Palestinians is a bad thing. Those two views aren't incompatible

Support for Hamas in the war is supporting their war aims to kill and exterminate the jews in Israel, as they made abundantly clear on Oct 7th.
For a great deal of people, any support they give to Hamas is entirely lukewarm, driven by the urge to not be called racist for drinking Starbucks or something similar. But the drivers of that ostracization are clear in their goals.

Their is a large difference between wanting Palestine to exist and wanting Hamas in charge. Just like there is a large difference in wanting Israel to exist and wanting the Israel's right wing in charge.

Maybe it wasn't just to change the genocidal rhetoric
Maybe they just wanted to get back on the map

Archived webpages indicate that Israel had been missing from Baidu and Alibaba maps since May 2021, well before the October 7th conflict.

Yeah, for the yahoos Fox chooses to highlight in their "news". Why would you think that represents the broader population?

The yahoos that Fox news highlights are the ones with influence in youth movements. The aggressive college students set the tone that the broader population follows - most of them do not really care or know anything about Hamas or Israel, but they know that if they are openly in support of Israel they will be called racist or face some level of ostracism. So they support Hamas instead.
Note that these are trends among young people. Older people are still working on last year's morality.

If I told that to my two young adult offspring, they'd laugh their ass off.
