[PB75 Spoiler] Ginger and Civac's Outside Context Problem

There is one other option. We could move the Palace to a city with a bit of forest left. Palace grants 160 / 1.25 = 128 hammers overflow. With Bureau/OR switch (still neccessary, otherwise Bureau-bonus is divided out of Palace itself) we get to 320 hammers into Sankore so 230 / 2.5 = 92 base hammers required for Sankore, 2-3 forests, more likely 3.

Just market in some city without the Palace nonsense would be 150 / 1.25 = 120 hammers overflow for 240 hammers, that requires an additional 5 forest. This can be done Caesaria, Zepyhrion and Aintab with the latter being the least damaged by chopping its forests. This is probably the way.

On another note, I would feel better with another spear or two in Aintab.

Edit: The nice thing about 1t wonders is the reduced chance of getting sniped after teching silly stuff like Paper or DR. If you absolutely want Sankore then yes it's not important.

I love it when you talk dirty cascades.

Is that a meta joke or a malfunction?

Very much a malfunction. The forum was acting up last night, and none of those posts actually went through, but I guess they did at last?

6 turn countdown to the big day where we cash in two Great People
Otherwise there's little action to report except that the lines go up

Also wanted to take a moment to talk about Chichen Itza lmao, built before any of the Aesth line wonders or ToA, in fact, built one or two turns after Zulu researched CoL, in a mass chop/OF maneuver.
Actually a marvel of top tier execution and piss poor strategic priority, we'll see if that continues or becomes a theme for Ljubljana later in the game.

Artist and scientist born on turn roll, someone is first to Aesth this turn which means the Artist is natural and thus Naufragar's as MoM is the only existing source of Artist gpp
So the scientist is someone else's, proobably not Greenline bc location unkown and Ive uncovered most of his core so I'd guess Superdeath's scientist. Probably just golden ages, although he might wait to cap out more growth if he's not feeling urgent tech requirements. I suspect he's Mr 240 CY
Our population still world best at 15%. 25% ahead of the next highest at 12%, our southern neighbor Dreylin. It's not a Ginger game until you're first in world pop and 8th in land area

If I lock specialist hiring in the city screen will it also lock specialist firing? As in if the city loses luxuries (or gets nuked) and thus loses a working citizen, does my lock prevent the specialist from being fired?

Edit:
wtf is going on with Mjmd's development? Looks like his whole core has less population than Gav's first and second cities. The wonder pile is cute but he has no pop! Maybe that's the price of the wonders and IND/PHI?
Did he settle a prophet? There's no shrine and he's had like 3-4 GP's. I'm puzzled bc he or Gav were my favorites to win the game. One goes HBR on Egypt and the other is playing One Pop Challenge. They're messing up my March Madness brackets!

We have decided to go for the Apostolic Palace. Or do the Ginger/Mig thing as it is known in some circles.

For this purpose Constantinople bred a Great Engineer using its HG points and a forge engineer. Prussa supplied a second GP for the necessary GA to switch into Christianity. It ended up being a second GE but it got sacrificed nevertheless

Ginger and I bandied about various ideas on how to procceed with this game. Ginger considered an attack on Dreylin who is lagging badly in his economic development but ultimately we decided against it. I don't think an early conquest has won a PB in recent memory.

As the overview shows many cities have no or relatively weak food sources and surrounding terrain made up of hills or plains. Ginger decided to go for a production-focused economic approach making the most of these filler cities. We are going to use serfdom over slavery as several of our cities can't whip profitably and it's better to grow slowly on super-charged windmills. Forests were spared to enable lumber mills. The Apostolic Palace and other monk wonders go well with this approach as they provide yields independent from land quality.

Also, we are currently using excessive Wealth builds. Converting a part of production into commerce will be necessary for the entire game. This is a bit much though. Ginger does not make much of units apparently. Noone else seems to have any units either unless there is a shadow army. It's an odd game. I could convince Ginger to station some scouts at the borders at least and he promised some crossbows once IW is in next after Monarchy.

IIrc we were a bit behind on both production and gnp prior to GA and epidemic of Wealth builds.

Units are a myth made up by Big War to stop you from increasing tile yields

Yes without wealth builds our economy is much weaker but I’m not concerned bc we can simply build wealth

5 turns after the HR/Serf/OR swap we can adopt Bureau, +40 beakers, -9gold upkeep, +8 hammers.

We begin building UoS. There is some paranoia that Mjmd might snipe it with his great engineer, so we are tragically chopping lumbermills to expedite the process.
Lumbermills have been a huge part of our economy this game. If we were playing FIN it would've likely been all converted to cottages but we have kept many forests around. A lumbermill with wealth builds is equivalent to a village, which usually takes 30 turns to mature. Serfdom farms and workshops are the likely replacement.

Ouch. Chopping lumbermills *hurt*.

Looks like you have pretty good map coverage though!
