Based on these responses plus my experience playing with everyone except Ginger, I think we should be Yuris -> Scooter -> Superdeath -> Ginger -> Bing. Does that sound roughly correct? The only catch is if SD plays late in his window, Ginger may miss his window.
Are we good with doing with we did in PB76 for snake order? What we basically did was line up the play order, then roll RNG to determine who got to play first. Then we let whoever is last in turn order pick their snake slot, then next-to-last, and so on. Given that folks often prize either going first or last in the snake, it's helpful for those who draw later in the turn order to have the choice.
Superdeath and I are both active on discord we can work it out if there’s any time slot friction. I believe he’s also ahead of me in the US Midwest timezone so that’s good.
Yup that seems fine, alternatively we could just do rank picks without snaking in exchange for the turn order. “5432154321” That seems fairer and simpler to me than picking your snake order
Peace is non-negotiable

Was there some manner of map consensus?
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.
I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out. (April 16th, 2024, 08:31)Commodore Wrote: Was there some manner of map consensus? map. Islands. Ancient start. Astro lands. enough room for cities on main island(s). Mapmaker appreciation party. Complaint box included.
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

The direction you're leaning towards based on your comments + Ginger's basic outline from the first page of this thread all seem fine to me. General strategic resource balance seems important here too. I think I'm general in favor of more balance than less, but I don't think there's a lot of desire for outright hard or soft mirroring. (Though I'm certainly not opposed to it at the capital if that's what's easiest.) This is a nudge for anyone who hasn't commented on map stuff to do so now, or accept the way the winds are blowing.
i also would like balanced starting area. If possible. OR we snake pick starts

I poked Bing via Discord to swing by here and confirm/deny his preferences.
Are there any other settings we'd like to haggle over? I suppose we should lock in a difficulty - would prefer Monarch over Emperor personally, but whatever either way. Our ban list is pretty decided. Once we have settings locked we can lock in a turn/draft order and get the ball rolling on that. |
