This is a really great Mod for Caster of Magic. Thanks for all the hard work that went into it.
I really like the new factions, spells, buildings and units/heroes. The way all the units/icons look is amazing! It's like they were made by the creators of the game back in the 90's I really enjoy the comedic sensibility of the descriptions on spells, etc. That Witch house is kind of hypnotic...what a great idea to made swamps and tundra have a purpose, adding more decision making on city placement. I was able to get the mod to work with the steam version in steam offline mode by launching thru the slitherine launcher. I was able to try several factions out. I didn't find any problems. That all came to an end when instead of just X out of the program I decided to select the Lose option on the menu. It showed me my score and then it either crashed or it crashed when I went to start a new game I don't remember. Now I get an unhandled exception when I try to start a new game with the mod loaded. I tried to fix it by unloading and re installing the mod. I'm not sure what triggered by selecting the lose option. I deleted everything even the game, I would download my steam version again, but it's probably not worth it so. I'll get gog version. Thanks again for all the work! Music tastes are usually very individual and also for other reasons I prefer not to change sound files myself.
I love Amon Amarth! Most of my music started as Melodic Death Metal stuff, but it was easiest that I just ported through a fake sega genesis soundchip. I used to be able to do growls and screams half decent as well, but I am too out of practice now lol. As long as you're cool with the sega genesis' soundchip you might think a lot of the music on my channel is okay, since most started their lives as power and/or melodic death metal. Any themes that I do for random wizards not part of a larger mod I try to write with the goal that it fits MoM's music style already. So the klackon wizards theme is just kinda spooky tropical stuff. I tried to do "Donkey Kong Country" meets "Primal Rage" with a dash of "Sonic the Hedgehog" thrown in. Overall I think it jives well enough with MoM's music: "https://youtu.be/-LW6IvJGD8g" So as long as you're cool with it you could add it to the "More Stuff Mod." If people don't like it you can always change it back in future updates of the mod right? By the way, I'll try to get those Bombadier beetle sprites done for you soon. I've just been busy doing an IRL art project. A coworker quit so I wanted to make him a going away present. So I had to teach myself to paint a portrait since I've never done it before. Painting portraits is WAY easier with a mouse in microsoft paint then it is real life with actual paint lol. Real life lacks an "undo" button : P Thanks again for hearing me out!
I found a strange bug. In this game I play with the vikings all of a sudden a neutral hero appeared in one of my towns.
It just sit there and I can't get it away from there but the only way it seems to effect the game is that none of my units (probably not others either) can enter the city. I have two units in the city since before and they remain there but if they move out they can't get back in again. It's the town of Trier in the save posted here. As far as I can tell I have done nothing special when it showed up but based on the xp of the hero it's been there for 16 turns so I definitly missed some turns before I found out that it was there.
Update on that. Apparently wasn't a neutral hero but Tlaloc. But I had not met him and still it's strange he could be in my city. But eventually like 10 turns later he moved out of my city, and then the troops I had in the city moved out with him for some reason.
And even though he have his hero there, now outside of my cities. I still don't meet with him. Edit again: apperently Tlaloc was banished so that's why I didn't meet with him. The autosaves 14 turns ago could give a clue as to what exactly happened - the turn before and after the hero's appearance. If you find them, please post them too. I'll definitely take a look. I met neutral Settlers once early in the game , but I've never seen this before... Edit: I was able to crash the game by removing the units from the city and declaring war on Purple, who attacked the unmodded Amazon hero while still hanging out in Trier. The hero belonged to a banished Myrran wizard and towers are still not open! I haven't fiddled with any Plane Shifting or overland teleportation in this MOD. Do you have? So I have absolutely no explanation as to what else could be causing this. It was possible to continue the game and the hero from Myrror left the town eventually. Razing Trier was another way to solve the problem. |
