Cow is pastured now as well, Sailing due in a few turns, then onto Mysticism.
Looks solid. I was wondering each turn if I had missed a city settlement as a couple turns went by with nobody settling their second city. Then on T35 all other players settled, so that answered that.

So what is the plan for Unta after the settler — grow to 6 on workboats then 3-whip another settler, or build another settler sooner than that?

Don't really have the next plan yet. Still pressing enter on the current plan for another 3-4 days and haven't had the time to really break it down beyond that. The one downside of the archipelago map + no barbs + no events is the early turns just have nothing going on once you've decided how to play them. Once a week or so you plan your next 5-10 turns and then you press enter until next week.

Yeah, this game could have used some start boosting, but that's hindsight. Let us know if you want any particular input.

I suppose we could do opponent analysis on Mjmd / Cairo for something to do while we wait, since the player keeps rotating...

Heh, I do have in my map notes "...as MJMD has opted for the most boring early-game ever settings..."

You mean Ginger I assume? I choose to believe this was absolute peak trolling by him. Set up a game with a boring early game, then bail on the actual early game ASAP.
To be clear, I think the game setup is fine, the map idea and the bits I've seen look interesting, and the game will be fun to play and maybe even to watch starting in like a month. UNTIL THEN WE SLOG.
To all you other players out there - it's OK to stray from basic ancient settings! Start with a worker and worker techs researched! Start with two settlers! Just do little things to speed up the boring part, especially if you've explicitly opted into a game that makes the boring part somehow more boring.

Settler is out and Pale is well-improved. I'll figure out today what to do with Unta, but most likely it will build the Work Boat while growing because it's getting close to queue decay. The timing of getting the warrior from Pale is a little awkward as it would grow into unhappiness a turn before the warrior can arrive. I'll either eat that or tweak Pale to complete the warrior 1T sooner on the Copper. Probably the latter.
I am going to settle White next. Mysticism will be in, so I can go straight onto a Monument on the Ivory, and the Worker will be ready to improve it immediately. If no religions have fallen when I get Mysticism in, I will be vaguely tempted to go for Polytheism next. We're going to grab Monarchy at some point anyway, so it's not like it's wasted beakers.
Demos look about the same. There's not a ton of growing going on, so I think other players are doing fairly similar things here.

I guess we will see whether a religion from Polytheism is still available when we get done with Mysticism, since happiness for whipping is going to be a limiting factor for a while. I was also thinking we want Pottery for granaries and a few cottages soon, too.
There are 3 CHA picks and a pick that wants to get Writing ASAP. We might not actually have that much competition for religion at Polytheism if we go there expeditiously.
