Oh yes, they were positive models of the welfare state. rolleye

Did I call them positive models of anything? I just said they expanded it compared to the Weimar republic and the German Empire. Following the defeat of the Nazis, other European states adopted even more expansive welfare models than the Nazis had. You can interpret that however you will, but it did happen!

Hitler liked art. Art is fascist.

Biden is the victim of a coup, as proven by his lack of public appearance, the discrepancy/absence of acknowledgement of stepping down across all his twitter accs, such as POTUS acc. The Deep state coupists don't have control of all his twitter accs and rushed out their initial message without even the usual signature or letterhead.
Eventually, he may submit to the bullying. He's old and tired. He's his also proud and belligerent and senile. Maybe he'll never be trusted to talk LIVE in public again (that recent message likely pre-recorded)
Meanwhile Trump has become the privleged Deep State candidate, with Thiel, Ackman, and Musk just some of his oligarch backers.

While there does appear to be a lot of shady stuff happening in the Oval Office in the present, it really seems par the course for the administration. Biden already wasn't exactly making a lot of decisions there in the first place, and how does one expect a dementia patient to give a 'legitimate' resignation anyway?

Thiel and Musk being can't account for the whole of the deep state. Musk just got dinged with a 60 million dollar lawsuit for offending the US government on twitter. There will be plenty of bureaucrats and power donors who will fight for a Kamala presidency all the way to the political grave.

Or and hear me out conspiracy people:

A LOT of people have been acknowledged as pressuring him to step down after the debate. A lot of news media has been asking him. Maybe, just maybe, he acknowledged A) that he is starting to decline and/or B) that it was such a distraction that it was the right thing to do.

The conspiracy minded stuff isn't coming from nowhere. Per this article https://www.politico.com/news/2024/07/21...t-00170106, apparently what changed his tune was Nancy Pelosi and some other high up delegates telling him that they had done things 'the easy way', and now it was time for the hard way. And all of a sudden, Biden's twitter account drops that he is resigning so hastily that it doesn't even endorse Kamala at first, and the man himself entirely vanishes from public, not even bothering to give any kind of resignation speech. It does look strange.

So they told him polls were bad and fundraising was bad. They said they would directly oppose him. Ok, yes its a pressure campaign, but he still could have chosen to fight. He didn't; he made the choice to give Democrats the best chance and he chose to give up power without more of a fight. But yes Democrats choose to resist an unqualified candidate from running for president.

I'll note the Republican party had the same option. Heh we have a candidate a lot of people don't think is qualified to be president again. Should we oppose him or be faithful dogs. Some did vocally oppose him, but the party choose a different path. Trump choose to try to fight to hold onto power. After Jan 6th it could have gone either way. I think a lot of people forget what a lot of Republicans were saying after that. If a couple of high ranking Republicans had stood up at that moment Trump would have gone the way of Nixon. Instead McCarthy goes down to Mar a logo and bends the knee.

This pre-dated him dropping out. The geezer caught Covid and canceled all his campaign events. Then he dropped out...or got drop kicked out, depending on which narrative supports your world view.

What a fun few weeks he's had. Will be curious how this gets covered in his memoirs.

Trumpers had such an easy time controlling the narrative with Biden as the candidate.  Cognitive impairment, porous border, senile old fool, rampant inflation, incompetent candidate.  It's amusing watching the shills (e.g. Ben Shapiro) groping and failing for a new narrative.  Guess what fellas, you are now going to have to campaign on Trump popcorn.

Yup, that's true. Trump can't attack Harris on the Dems crappy record because it wasn't her administration. She can easily take credit for anything good and say anything bad wasn't her.
