Population in the demo screen is not 1:1 with population points in your cities, larger cities count for disproportionately higher demo population.
This page explains all the demographics calculations: https://www.civfanatics.com/civ4/strateg...explained/
The relevant bit is here:
Population– The population of all your cities. You can see in the city screen when you run the mouse cursor over the city name. This equals floor(PoP^2.8)*1000. For example a city with 1 pop point = 1000 people, with 2 pop points = 6000, 3 pop points = 21000. All these population scores are added up to give you the result.

Then I must not worry about it. So far...

The mapmaker has gifted us with a nice horse near our third city. I guess all players will have that. I like early horses to make Chariots and deal with Barbs in early game.
Started to research Wheels and I put a Settler to get the overflow of the Worker in this way I can accelerate the Settler one turn. Next turn I will make a warrior that is on the queue, and start a new warrior until Pop3. Then finish the settler that should be in T41

Rice is finished in 2ndAlaskan and worker will go to the Sheeps. In 2 turns Unalaska grows to 3 and in 5 the new Settler is done. And he will go to the spot city3 on the East. I still have some doubts if he could go to city4 and start working the Gold. If not, I thing that city4 with the gold is a "must".

I am sure that all players have Horses, but the other players might have their Horses in a better or worse spot than our Horses.
Putting the overflow in a Settler is good.
Your City3 spot is alright. It will share Unalaska’s Cow and help with happiness.
When can we explore west of Unalaska? There could be good city spots over there.
And you can rename 2ndAlaskan to Juneau. Sorry for not having the name ready when the city was founded.
Juneau is our state capital. It is in Southeast Alaska AKA the Panhandle. The place with the weird border with Canada. Juneau is on the mainland, but there are no roads to it, so you can only get there with a boat or plane. It is not the biggest or most central city anymore, but it was a good place for the capital when the United States bought Alaska from Russia.
Also there is a lot of rain in Juneau. And a glacier next to the city.
EDIT: Ninja’d. Lunch is over now,?so I will reply to 35/36 later.

City4 has no food resources (Plains Hill Cow does not count, it is only 2 food when improved) so I think we should not settle it 3rd or 4th. The happiness and commerce of Gold is not important enough so early. We can get it later. The early cities need good food and production.
Maybe settle north by Wheat or west by Cow and Clam. There could also be great tiles in the fog by those places.

Changed production of Unalaska to Settler, and finished the cows. So the Settler will be done in 4 turns. Next turn I will start the road system of the Ducht empire. Up with Juneau, the new city that is growing very fast. I am thinking about producing a worker when it will be Pop3.
About the 4th city, it could be placed at the tile West of the mark City4. In this place it could profit the sheep near Juneau. and it could have more food. See picture below

Once Juneau is big enough to work the 3 resource tiles, it would be reasonable to make a Worker.
About City 4, 1W of the sign is a lot better. You could do 1SW of the sign. That reaches the hill banana. You can mine that tile for a 2/3/1 yield.
I will log in tonight to look around our whole area myself.

When I logged in, the game made me choose a technology, so I chose Pottery. I think Pottery is the best technology to research now.
I took that screenshot with the flying camera. Giraflorens, if you want to try the flying camera, then just go to CivilizationIV.ini file (that file is in the same place as the Saves or Screenshots folders), and change "AllowFlying = 0" to "AllowFlying = 1." Then in the game you can go in and out of the flying camera with Alt + Ctrl + F. Move the camera with arrow keys and the mouse.
The flying camera can give a helpful perspective.
About the fourth city, there could be a great place for the fourth city in the fog west by Cows and Clams, or north by Wheat. If there is another food resource in the fog in one of those places, I think it would be a lot better than the Gold spot. Can we send Warriors to explore those areas? A Warrior on a forest has 50/50 vs. Bears, better vs others. If the forest is on a hill, or if the Warrior has fortify bonus, then the Warrior has the advantage.
Also, Barbarian Warriors and maybe Archers will be spawning now. The Bears, Lions, Wolves, die away slowly and are replaced by Warriors and maybe Archers. This will take a while and the new Barbarians are not that aggressive at first, but be careful.
Last for now: I count about 120 land tiles in view so far. Our share of the map is about 180 land tiles (918/5), so we see about 2/3 of our fair share of the land.

Worker is making a road and the warrior goes west to avoid spawning Barbs and to wait for the Settler that will come in 3 turns.
After this road, I plan to make another road in the NW tile that can serve also for the way to Juneau. After this road, the worker will go to the horses. Ain't it a priority resource to get?
Also I put the Res Slide to 0 to get provettes for the next techs. I was thinking about this seq of techs: pottery, hunting. And I don't know the next: sailing, writting, metal casting, archery?
Magic, thx a lot for your hints. I did not know that of Flying. It can be very handy. And for exploring the west, I will send a warrior as soon as I have one free. I plan to make a new warrior in Unalaska after the settler.
Also what should I produce in the 3rdAlaskian city? I can make one warrior before going for a granary. Or what about a boat to explore ?
