6 cities, Cairo has 6 now too. But we just whipped 2 settlers.
We have second GP knocking around, another GS. He could fire off a golden age, but this is a bad time to do it I think, with low pop in every town.
He could bulb alphabet which would be very useless.

Mr Cairo as a neighbor inspires no feelings at all. Usually he is pretty passive.

Since we are going Calendar, we should be aiming to get other great people besides scientists for a source of golden ages. Any food heavy city that can whip out a market in the near future?

market takes 5 pop to whip, or 3 if you build through 60 hammers... maybe overflow from previous whip into 3pop whip... but just whipped both 6pop towns into settlers.
It's hard to amass the pop for market whip with only 5 happiness, i think?
Merchant may take some time.

Calendar is up. currently stockpiling gold and putting a little bit of research (specialists) into Code of Laws.

Is Code of Laws the best tech here? We aren't ORG, so whipping courthouses will be expensive. Would Metal Casting forges be worth looking into?

fair point... I like having a religion, but I guess that's a bit stupid since calendar just solved the happiness issue.
Whipping in general is not great until we bump up against the new happiness limit, right? especially since I want to boost bigger cities with golden age.
halfway through code of laws now I guess Metal Casting and then Aesthetics next.

A religion would be good for production with organized religion. But would need a golden age plan to swap into those civics.

Do you have an idea for when you'd want to try going to war? I'm not sure what tech level is ideal on archipelago maps. Galleons and frigates are good for controlling space, but you still need units to attack off the boats
