hihi! how goes operation HG? and operations in general?

sorry i have been such an inattentive DL of late frown Other Games have been taking up a lot of my civ energy, and it seems like i don't quite have your superhuman energy to play in 4 games at once and still feel excited about them lol

curious about what the tech path in these water games is supposed to be post-currency. obviously astro as soon as you can reasonably get it, but what does "reasonably" mean? like, do we want a heroic epic city set up first to spam out the galleons? (assuming we can get a unit that qualifies somehow, which in a no-barbs game is pretty unlikely i guess.....) is pro + mercantilism strong enough that we need to divert to banking first? also, are harbors actually worth prioritizing in a setup like this one with pro ICTRs? speaking of which, when are we supposed to go for circumnavigation...... do you think it's doable on this map with just galleys?

You think im playing in 4 games at once AND excited about them? I join extra games KNOWING that at least half of them ill be land-neighbor-depressed screwed before too long so at least i can be happy playing one of the others.

We landed a 14 city HG. Currently working on getting cities upto-snuff, getting a wave of workers out from alot of cities. The HG city is also going to work on the Mid's but i DO NOT expect to get them. But if we do, thats fine too. Harbors should 100% be worth it with circumnavigation +pro. They ARE expensive, but the earlier the better. (i think) I am somewhat close to circumnavigating. I probably have to send a workboat west to get it 100%, but shouldnt be too bad. Got currency already, so heading for optics followed by probably going for Longbows/crossbows to protect from Samurai. Or maybe the other way around. We have plenty of land to expand into, so probably going for crossbow to survive any assault, while expanding into MORE cities.

heh, well, that's a good strategy honestly. whenever i'm in a game that's not going well (and it's invariably my only game) i just get all-around broody..... but if you landed a 14-city HG, sounds like this is NOT that game :D that's about as explosive an HG as i've heard of on these fora.... can we get screenies of the ridiculous jump in the demo graphs, pretty please?

how many cities does it look like each player has room for? would love to see updated screenies as well :D

Thanks for the overview shots.

I don't know how to ask this, but why are you working so many unimproved forestless tiles?

Recently chopped. Hanging gardens, rushed settlers and not enough workers. Wanted a HUGE Hanging gardens play, and was scared someone was going to snipe it.. so didnt build the workers till now. I also have to make sure i dont look like an appetizing meal to Yuri with his stupidly strong UU. So.. its been a work in progress. ALSO that is a couple turns delayed post.

Completed the mids' last turn, and revolted this turn. Going to try and use Rep scientists to get us the tech edge/catch up that we need.
