I'm tempted for the duel island with SD, but we should probably stick to your original premise.

I like barbs on bigger maps, but on smaller maps the opponents are the barbs. Without knowing how much space though I default to variance bad as there is already a ton. But th is one I'm fine with whatever voting decision is. My opponent getting shock on their units however.....

Normal/Cylindrical, most likely east-west but I might decide that north-south works better (but it's unlikely).

Ok, I'll need about 24 hours to decide whether I sign up. Or maybe more. On the one hand, after PB74 ended I told my wife to hide away my laptop if I ever decide to sign up for a pitboss game again. On the other hand, I really like this concept and want to play. So, I have a bit of a situation here and at least need to get my better half on board.
If someone takes the last spot while I am procrastinating it's fine though.

5 vs 4 is entirely workable as well; biggest issue it gives us lurker a decision where to put the middle player...

So, me and my wife reached the following compromise. I am not signing up. However, if there will be no 8th player by the moment Tarkeel finishes the map, I will step in to make the game possible.
