Oh... that sounds slightly familar. An old german name in alaska?
Looked it up and why not share it here.
Otto von Kotzebue was a baltic-german naval officer and expedition leader who wanted to explore the northwest passage in the early 19th century. (yeah, yet another one )
Approached via pacific and cruised the bering strait but were not able to sail into arctic waters.
One of the larger bays (or sound) were named after him and later the town of Qikiqtaġruk was renamed.
I never knew that Kotzebue was a German name. Thank you for telling me that.
Also, I see from PBSPY that Miro captured cities from Ricketyclik. That is a relief. I also see that Gira is logged in right now, so he will tell us all about it soon. .

Yes, Miro attacked Rick. In PBSPY Rick has a decrese of -37 points, might be due to a lost of a city? But the city counter doesn't change it. He still have 7 cities. It seems that Rick is not playing at 100% and I don't know Superdeath, but for what I've heard he is a warmonger, so I guess he is suffering a lot in this game.
So... we have some turns of rest. But I guess that when Miro has finished Rick he will have a lot of units, and promoted so he will want to continue battling .
So what do we do with the Great Merchant? We will have another GP in 10 turns, and a good civic to change would be vassalage. More or less the time will take us to research Monarchy and Feudalism.
Next turn I will have ThePartenon, and I would like to make the Great Library, but I don't know in which city, might be here in Valdez also. But I think someone else has literature so it must be on building already. Besides that I am building Monasteries in the border cities, and libraries, to keep up the borders.
In Diomede I have a tile with Stone and I was doubting about making a Quarry or a mine. We already have stone and both seem to give the same yield, but the mine is faster to improve. I started a Quarry, anyways.
Below the situation in the Hot West and the East. I've sent a boat to spy the war. (Indeed I made a boat that I won't be able to use in Diomede).

On Turn 135, Ricketyclik had +7 points while he was logged in, so he must have made a new city. He went from 7 cities to 8 cities.
On Turn 136, Ricketyclik lost a city to Miro, so he went back to 7 cities.

Good point.

I need to think more about this. What to do with Great Merchant depends on the big picture of the game. How can we win?
I think a Golden Age would be better, but I am not 100% sure.

Maybe The Great Library in Unalaska? That way the extra Scientists get the National Epic +100%. Unalaska still has 2 Forests to chop to help make the Wonder.

Extra Stone could be traded to someone else.

Good idea to spy on the war. You should try to get Open Borders with Ricketyclik too so you can spy better.
Also, think about sending Rick some resources if he needs help, and we have extra resources. Like we have extra Copper, so if Rick loses Copper, then we can give him another copy. But that might make Miro upset with us.

Xist10 joined the attack against Rick. And this has lost 4 cities in 2 turns. He is got 3 cities left, that must be claimed by the 2 attackers. The picture about shows what our boat can see. Not much.
Two turns for Monarchy and I guess that 4 - 6 to Feudalism. And then we can make Longbowman. Now I realized that I had lost some turns researching Civil Service, which should had gone to Feudalism.
I am finishing to make missionaires for all cities and start building barracks everywhere
In the Tech screen someone already have Engineering. And in the Power graph we can see the huge curve of Miró. He has lost some units but still is very high. Much more than Xist10

You probably know, but I sometimes forget that you could sail into a foreign city to get a view at the surroundings.
4 cities lost? ouch, that was fast.

They must not be coastal cities. So we can't see them.
Yes I think Miró will finish very fast, which really scares me, because this is his chance to war with some advantage (Cho-ko-nuts).

Are we sure that Miro is using Cho-Ko-Nus? If he is capturing cities so fast, then he might be using Horse Archers, because they are 2-movers.
Watch to see when someone gets Guilds for Knights!
You have Machinery, so Civil Service unlocks Macemen. That is a better unit, but not good against Cho-Ko-Nus. It also unlocks Bureaucracy for the next Golden Age. Bureaucracy is usually better than Vassalage.
So do not wait too long to learn Civil Service.
About the war, I hope that Xist and Miro fight each other over Ricketyclik's land. That will distract Miro.
We need more units. Miro has about 3x as much power as us. We do not need to have the same power as him, but we need to be closer. It is too dangerous to be so far below in power.

Watch to see when someone gets Guilds for Knights! Could be. There are 2 players with Horses. One is Xist10 for sure and the other could be Miró.

Bureaucracy better, really? if we use the capital to make GP, it does not need more Hammers or coins. Besides that, the Longbowmans are terrible in those hilly cities. I have seem them to kill Riffles when defending cities. I was thinking about Feudalism next and Civil Service after. And I can upgrade the archers.

Yes, I ve been doing Courthouses and missionaires anywhere. Now I ll go for units. And I needed these new techs for better units.

Rick only has 1 city left. Most of them comquered by Miró. I building barracks anywhere now, and start to make units. It will take 5-6 turns to have Feudalism to make longbowmans. I also will start to make walls in all the border cities. I am surprise that all the cities of Xist and Coldrain on the East already have a 50% defense. Do they have walls? or is it something related with their civilization? I only have 20% in all of them.
Below the graph of power

A city with 50% defense is almost always due to walls; culture gives increments of 20% but it could have been bombarded down (unlikely). Walls give a base defense of 50% vs non-gunpowder units.
