This is almost certainly a silly question, but how do I get on the American server as well as the European one?

Gah! Didn't realize I was in this! :P Yes, Cull did quite well that game. It helped that he had me to babysit him the whole time. Not that I mind - that's why I chose Kayle! I typically play a tank / support character. I feel I'm a much more valuable asset to my team helping them get all the kills, instead of trying for them myself. It seems to work out much better for me (and the team!)

Sulla, I'm loving these videos. If I had a more powerful rig I'd capture some video myself for when we game together so you could recap on what the rest of us were doing. I don't mind if you post the videos here (maybe make one post with all the links, edited as needed?) or on your site. Either way works for me.

I hope to get in on some more games with you, with or without being recorded!

(BTW - that's me commenting on Cull at the end of the first video, talking about how he's gotten all the kills. He was playing a much more agressive character than I, and I was very slow farming up gold for my items, so there was minimal chance of me killing anything. Keeping Cull fast and healthy, however, worked out quite well for us.)

Gold Ergo Sum, this game really doesn't play out like a First Person Shooter at all. It really is a strategy game, albeit a real-time one that requires some fast reflexes. Even a team of good individual players will get absolutely destroyed without proper teamwork. Also, if people are escaping with 5% of health left, try using Exhaust or Ignite.

Rolan, if you have any way of capturing some video footage, I'd be happy to look at it and see things from your point of view. Shame this game still lacks an observer mode or replay functionality...

Oh, I know the game doesn't have much in common with FPS gameplay, that is just an example of an aspect of that game that might not really appeal to me based on past experience with other genres. While I love Civ IV, I've spent roughly 50 times as much time on MW1 and MW2 and L4D1 and L4D2. I do think you underestimate the degree to which teamwork matters in an FPS. I am an FPS guy at heart because I've met so many people on my Xbox friend's list who are super skilled and tactically astute at FPS gameplay, so I always have a good time with them. Consistently winning 100-200 games in a row of anything is pretty fun. But mainly it is the social aspect. By and large, Civ is a singular experience, and even playing multiplayer isn't nearly as interactive or require the same degree of constant communication as playing a competitive FPS on the 360 where you have constant voice chat.

Does LoL allow voice chat during the game, or merely text?

In the video's Sullla has made, usually 3 or more of the team has been on teamspeak during the game, those of us without microphones have to resort to ingame text to communicate

Played my first game ever. On the European server (hwo do I get onto the NA one?) Got into a Spanish team apparantly. And an amazing 3/8/4 using that fat dwarf with the keg, largely following advise from Sullla's videos (great stuff).

When you select the download game option on the main page it gives you a big fat red "download game" button and just below it says "Languages and operating systems" if you click on that you can choose N.America or Europe.

Should be good to go after that
