Just a short, boring, all-text update.
I'll try to add some space between some of my sentences so it looks like I wrote more.
Serdoa told me yesterday he won't be attacking Twinkletoes after all... Apparently he was mistaken about TT violating a settling agreement (shocking isn't it??). So he's going to leave TT alone for now, and instead he's going to send 3 catapults to me to help KO Dazed once and for all. For awhile I was worried that even 3 cats wouldn't do the job because he already had 6 archers and wasn't showing any signs of stopping building them, but he decided to be brave and send two archers to come harass me.
He stacked them together of course, but I was able to keep him off good defensive terrain, and was able to hit them with one axe on open ground. That killed one archer without hurting my axe that much (free XP), and I was able to move two axes on top of that axe to clean up next turn. Since he knew his second archer was as good as gone, he tried to retreat it, but I was able to use my roads again to kill him on the retreat, which cut him down to four archers in his city. He no longer has two warriors in the city, as he sacrificed both of those to prevent me from keeping his worker that I captured earlier.
To the domestic side of things, I've been sending gold to Serdoa each turn for the last 3 turns, and I'm about halfway paid up for the city he gave me. Once I get to halfway (and the gold/turn goes down to 2), I'm going to stop and grab the rest of Monarcy so I can get Hereditary Rule in place (much needed), and then I"ll finish out the debt.
I'm boating over a settler to found a third city on the island (the SE location), and I'm slipping out a quick work boat from the capital (so it can grow basically), then I'll build another settler to take the west coast spot 1S of where I razed a barb city. Great Lighthouse will keep me afloat, as otherwise I definitely couldn't afford those cities.
