SG1 - Anyone still want to get better at Civ4?

Couldn't think of a wacky title!

Basically this game is for those of us who are looking to reach the higher difficulty levels of Single-Player Civ4 through succession games so we can pick up new tips and tricks from each other which (hopefully) leads us to victory!

These are the basic settings for this game:

Difficulty: Monarch
Map: Fractal
Map Size: Standard
Speed: Epic
Tech Trading: On
Leaders: Restricted
Vassals: Off
Huts: Off
Events: Off

Roster:

Whosit - checked in
seifer_md - checked in
Twinkletoes89 - checked in
The Reverend Doctor - checked in
Sareln - checked in
Amelia - checked in

Replacements

Starting Position:

Rules:

Ideally the next player on the list has 24 hours after the save has been uploaded to post a 'Got it' message. They then have 48 hours to do the turns after that, unless discussion is needed on how to play - at which point it is 48 hours to play once a plan is formed.

Due to Epic Speed, Whosit will play the first 30 turns, then seifer will play 25, myself 20, The Reverend Doctor 15 and then everyone will play 10 turns from that point after. This is simply due to the fact that the opening turns will be a lot quicker than subsequent turnsets.

BUG mod is allowed.

I have attached a test game for all the players to check and see that they can open it and play it. ALL PLAYERS MUST DO THIS WHEN THEY CHECK IN

Here are our three choices for starts.

Start 1 - Khmer

Double food and quadruple Floodplains. Probably the easiest start in terms of land quality. Maybe slightly lacking in production. Strong Leader and civ not awful.

Start 2 - Babylon - Sareln

Looks bleak but move warrior onto forest plains hill and may uncover some floodplains to the south east. Could possibly be a plains hill start with some floodplains and lots of forests to chop. Pretty strong production but no visible food resources. Nice civ and leader not awful.

Size 3 - Korea - Amelia, TRD

Lots of forests again and no visible food resources. Probably the trickiest start but move the warrior and maybe its nicer than we can currently see. Guaranteed War Elephants if nothing else. Financial Leader.

The test save worked for me.

I vote for the Korea start based solely on the fact that I'm playing Sury of Babylon in PBEM6. Everyone else is encouraged to make their choice for smarter reasons!

Checking in, but I won't be available to play till i get civ4 installed (when everyone else is installing civ5, shame me).

Edit: It's a Succession game, we want challenge, so kick out that Khmer start. I personally vote with Korea.

Thanks for setting up the thread TT and consider this me signing in! I have tested your save file and it works for me. As with TRD I would like to pass on Babylon as that's the Civ I am playing in PBEM4. The other two I have not tried before and I have no favor either way. I'll vote if necessary but otherwise I'm happy for a coin flip. =)

Are you guys looking for lurker suggestions as you play?

Ideally, I would like there to be no lurker comments unless we have a mechanics question that none of us can answer, and then we just get lurker comments at the end of the game who can point out where we went wrong and right.
