SG1 - Anyone still want to get better at Civ4?

T199 - 385 AD: Imperial Overview

Whip Plain silly for 2 pop to finish the granary. Overflow into a library.

Swap Copper Central from War Elephant --> Hwacha

Plan to double-whip a confucian monastary at Golden Arches when it goes to size 4, this will bring in the border pop faster which will benefit both archers and plain silly. This will also enable us to get full hammers for our forests near Golden Arches. Slow building the market is fine.

Ivory Towers will finish a Hwacha next turn. Has 5 turns of whip cooldown left.

Sealed Pigs will start a Hwacha, to doublewhip next turn into another Hwacha.

Swap Border Control from Confucian Missionary to Hwacha. Will double whip next turn, overflow into the missionary, overflow into another Hwacha. This will delay the missionary by one turn, but let us start the whip counter at Border Control, which will let us whip again sooner. Those additional pop points will only be providing produciton, so better to get it through the whip and grow some more :D.

Silver Dreams finishes a Lighthouse this turn, and has 15 turns of whip cooldown. I'll probably whip it for units when it goes to size 4.

Additional Notes:

There's a Confucion Missionary in Ivory Towers with a goto for Plain Silly. Missionary in Border Control (Building) is almost certainly for Silver Dreams then.

Golden Arches & Plain Silly will develop themselves. Everything else will be producing units during my turn.

We are +64 @ 0% and -80 @ 100% producing 164 beakers/turn, enough to finish CoL in 3 turns. I will run 0% for 4 turns and then max science for 3.

Did I mention that I'm an idiot and forgot we were on epic instead of normal speed and how that changed how many worker-turns it takes to get stuff done (most importantly 3 turn chop vs. 4 turn chop)? Redo the micro plan I had in my head.

T200 - 400 AD

Do as planned.

T201 - 415 AD

We are 4th wealthiest. Justinian and Willem are broke (6 & 7).

Swap Golden Archers over to Confucian Monastary for Whip next turn.

Willem is pursuing Music.

T202 - 430 AD

Confucion Missionary completes in Border Control with 30 hammers, I direct him to Silver Dreams

Hwachas complete across the empire and are directed to border control.

Missionary spreads Confucianism in Plain Silly

Whip Golden Archers for 2 pop to get the Confucian Monastary.

T203 - 445 AD

Spy In Byzantine Lands is Caught. I was trying to bring him home. Justinian doesn't care.

Darn, Missionary fails spread in Silver Dreams...

Accidentally forgot to switch binary research this turn, gain an extra turn of gold.

T204 - 460 AD

Set Research to 100%, CoL due in 3.

Have to make a call in Ivory towers about what to make other than Hwachas. Settle on double-whipping a horse-archer, since that will have overflow hammers for the hwacha.

T205 - 475 AD

Borders pop at Ivory Towers.

Whip Ivory Towers for a HA to overflow into Hwacha.

T206 - 490 AD

More worker management, getting better roads up so that if/when you whip units out of the backline cities, they can actually get somewhere.

Totally forgot about Silver Dreams, will whip a Hwacha out of it and let the overflow go into the market.

T207 - 505 AD

Chichen Itza built in a faraway land.

CoL comes in, set research back to 0%, generating +71 GPT. Direct Research towards MetalCasting, it's a 5 turn tech. Other real option is Bureacracy, which is a 9 turn tech (at 100%). 100% rate is -82 GPT.

Whip a Hwacha out of Silver Dreams, that city really can't catch a break can it? :P

T208 - 520 AD

Willem is first to Music, getting the Great Artist.

Justinian has a sword and 2 chariots moving around our capital towards the barb city. Be aware and keep the swords on station there to steal it.

T209 - 535 AD

Justinian completes the hanging gardens.

Willem is 8 turns from Machinery

Hwacha's are due in Sealed Pigs and Ivory Towers, which will bring our total to 10. I leave it with you Whosit. Worker wise, it might be good to build a floodplain farm where Golden Arches can get at it so it can work gold and grow at the same time.

Did Silver Dreams have another religion present? I mean, it must have to not guarantee a missionary spread, but I didn't notice one auto-spreading there.

Good news: Willem doesn't have horses or elephants (or HBR for that matter)... so when we attack we should face no mounted resistance.

Looking good.

One thing to consider: Both will trade Calendar (prob best to do it with Justinian as he has more he wants & we won't be fighting him for a while). Then we settle the triple floodplain & double incense spot for another large lot of commerce. It will pay for itself as soon as the incense is hooked up & I imagine our workers have little to do right now.

I can't see any way to settle the 3 floodplains + incense city, so i decided not to trade for Calender yet.

T 210 - One Hwacha made, build switched to Elephant.

T 211 - Hwacha made, turned to spy. Decided to sent two workers to chop and mine the hills plain for Golden Arches.

T 212- Workers mining Plains Hill for Capital, forest was chopped for Sealed Pigs.

T 213 - Justinian did send an sword / chariot combo to the barb city. I sent in two swords just in case. Started research on Metal Casting. Spare words are roading to the future incense city.

T 214 - Williem wants Open borders, i laugh and say no. An Elephant built, building another one.

T215 - Market built, starting on Lib. Justinian is sending in more forces to the barb city, our three swords lie in wait now. I decided to send in the Axe from Golden Arches as well.

T216 - Oops, two swords lost at 70%. Oh dear. I had to pull off a sentry axe and send in a replacement Chariot, before we lose that city.

T 217 - Archer attacks out to kill our sword. I respond by killing it with the axe we had. Metal casting done, i placed in a beaker into Calender to get better tech deals. Barb alert: Galley heading towards Silver Dreams. I start production on a Trireme. Plain Silly expends borders, i start cottage work.

T 218-221 Boring

T222 - Justinian arrives with more Chariots and a promoted sword. I pull off the sentry Chariot, just in case. I placed a worker there for temporary scouting duty. Our forces are getting ready for the invasion of Netherlands. Whipped a trireme to serve as fish defense.

T224 - Our ex-sentry axeman sacrificed himself so that the other could gloriously take the barb city of Numidian. Many thanks to Justinian who used a lot of his troops to take down the proud defenders.

So, summary, we have more Hwachas, we have taken Numidian at the lost of 3 swords and an Axe (sorry about the bad combat rolls), and our cities have expended. Elephants are being produced.

Several key points:

Plain silly has just finished the library, and there are workers chopping the forest there. It can be chopped completely next turn. Either save it, use it for the market, or for a settler.

We should get Calender from Williem, then declare on him. Giving him HBR would be good as he has no horses.

Our work boat scout is walking into a barb trap.

Other then that, we're still building units. We should have enough for the next turnplayer to declare war though.
