The delay is noticeable for me, when I compare to the near instant actions in others' recorded videos for example. I think skill shots and other actions that rely on timing might suffer especially.

My summoner name is Meciflorean, I'll add all of you eventually, just getting my bearings in the game.

I practiced jungling with Fiddlesticks yesterday, and it was very hard to consistently kill dragon like the guide I followed did. It seems like my lack of runes and masteries just won't allow me to do it for now. Oh well.

When I first started playing LoL Udyr was free to play, and because the hero had such a cool (Norwegian) name, I decided to start with him. I look at some guides, and everyone agrees that Udyr is best played as a jungler. Furthermore I find a video of some guy killing the golem as level 1. I tried it myself several times, and even if I did exactly what the guide said I was far from being able to pull it off.

After that I have put jungling from lvl 1 on hold, as it seems impossible to pull off without the correct masteries/runes.

Killing the Golem solo at level 1 without perfectly optimized runes and masteries is in-advisable and probably not possible.

One person mic'd up is sort of fine if it's a team captain with excellent map awareness, but if I'm on a team with a mic it does little good other than apologizing for noobing it up. When everyone has mics though it allows much faster discussion, coordination, and map alerts.

Two of us have mics and Seifer was listening in on the chat channel. But it doesn't really do that much good when none of really know what we should be doing, or if we played a 5 v 5 and two of our randoms didn't go where we went.

Personally, my map awareness is horrid. I often find myself going somewhere with the team, and then everyone leaves without sayiing anything, and I never notice and get left by myself because I was focused on killing some creeps or something.

@Speaker - Burning heart Amumu guide also talks about solo-killing the blue buff at level 1. It's certainly POSSIBLE I think even at my mediocre level via using two potions, smite, and escaping with almost zero health. But like I've learned from watch better players, why? It's almost costless for the mid champ (who is probably ranged) and top champ to hit the monster 2-3 times each and then move out to range. Win/win I think.

Fiddlesticks can kill Golem at level 1 without any problems, just using Drain and Smite. My summoner level is 3. That said, I gather that Fiddle is very safe but typically slower than other junglers, and I think you're right. I'll put off heavy jungling for now, until I level up a bit.

Here's a jungling resource with tons of jungling vids with different champions - http://www.youtube.com/user/stonewall008 Check out the 'mindset' videos.

Not so difficult as that - not as Warwick anyway. The riddle, as Mookie kindly demonstrated for me, is to escape the gank that follows....

Summoner level 1. Not level 1 in game. I would have thought that much was obvious.

Sorry, I've long since forgotten how many runes and masteries were available at summoner level 1.

Quote:The skill level spread in this game is nuts.
Seifer, Bright Side and myself played a 3 v 3 last night got outslayed probably 10-30 in a loss.
And then the next game none of us even died the whole game. So bizarre.

Keep in mind that team composition can be a decisive factor as well. Just two days ago I played against a team that consisted purely of melee physical damage. I bought 2 Thornmails, 2 Warmogs for Mundo and along with Ninja Tabi (And of course team backup) that made me almost invincible. hammer
Other often seen compositions include a team of 5 squishy damage dealers which usually does not work out well either.

While I agree that everyone on the team having a mic is the optimal case, I would like to point out that more often than not it's not really about the cost of purchasing a headset.
We actually had this discussion in a former WoW guild of mine and it turns out that people sometimes have legitimate real life reasons for not wanting to use a mic:
A roommate that needs to study, a baby sleeping in the same room or even health reasons such as hardness of hearing. I myself for example suffer from hyperacusis and like to play with the game sound turned off altogether.
Now I understand that in a clan or "serious" ranked play a mic is necessary for optimal performance, but keep in mind that not everyone that doesn't want to use TS is a cheapskate. wink
