After Tatans admission of failure i felt compelled to show you the end of my attempt

being a complete newbie i never felt comfortable going to war, so basically i just kept expanding while the vamps wiped the good guys out.... except when the good guys are gone who's left to feed on.... i gave up at this point when the vamps declared war on me.

Ouch! 124 PoL with associated tigers, 50+ skeletons, adepts, vampires, catapults.... Not a very pleasant prospect.

What did you have to defend with, out of curiosity?

Not enough is the quick answer, i could have scraped together about sixty units

power chart looked a bit silly at the end.

That kind of stack is the bread and butter of late game combat. It's actually not too hard to defend against, given the low strength units and near suicidal AI.

Maelstrom+Walls+Palisade+Good defensive units will slaughter the AI by the bucketload. It definitely isn't a hopeless situation.

Those are the sort of stacks that are really fun to fight... provided you turn on "stack attack" and turn off fighting animations.


Interestingly, assassins would get odds on most of those units, especially if you gave them the "poisoned blade" promo. Run in with a group of mobility I assassins, kill some guys, retreat, repeat. You could even give them "Capture Animal" to take the tigers for yourself Nyxin would work really well too.
