I started this game a few weeks ago, played a while, and then Real Life took over. Considered picking it up this weekend (had a few hours of free time) only to discover I'd lost my notes
Still, I enjoyed playing as far as I did, so here is a very brief write up of my opening:
Founded my city NE of the starting position, grabbing the cows. Started with FISHING (for the Spain-On-A-Lake effect, delayed by ten turns), then Hinduism (and later Judaism for a double headed hydra in my capital)
Farmers Gambit (minus the gambit, given the size of map, number of opponents and lack of barbs), in that I had almost no military until swordsmen became available. One Quecha per city.
Built stonehenge, and the parthenon. Didn't try for the oracle, given that 1 opponent was Industrious and that there was a 50% chance that another was also industrious (America), and my research path was down the other "religious tree".
Ended shortly after 0AD with 3 cities and half a million citizens...If it's in the running for anything, I'll provide screenshots. (At least, those figures are from memory. I'll verify them if they are in the running for anything...)
It would have been a great game to finish.
