Scavenger's Adv 8 report

Hi Everyone,

I have been playing a few of the adventures and epics but this was the first game I have taken enough notes to write up a report.

I can only give a brief summary today, but a full report will follow in about two days.

My strategy, saw stone within capital city range and being an industrious civilisation, decided to built stonehedge early, (didn't realise that the leader was Louis XIV, don't assume anything for the next game). And found a religion to gain a shrine to help with the finances of war and for an extra 2XP from theocracy.

I sprend Judiasm to the Malinese and used them as my flank guard while I destroyed every civilization to my right, finishing up to the Russians.

Civilisations destroyed 7

Sorry for the delay in the report everyone, I have been away for the last week.

I decided to build on the starting location

I saw stone and thought I would go for stonehedge and found a early religion to help with economy and XP from theocracy.

I started working on a warrior and researched mystecism and planned to go for hinduism.

Missed out by a single turn!, I went for masonary so that I could start building stonehedge, and then went for monothism to found judaism. As it was going to be discovered a few turns before my settler was built and I wanted my second city to be the holy city, I stopped researching it when it was almost finished until Orleans was built. The gamble worked and the holy city was founded

I decided to try for the CS slingshot in 900BC but in 850 BC the orale was built in a foreign land so that plan was shelved.

In 500 BC my first great prophet was born and the temple of Solomon was built in orleans. And in 425BC Paris finished the Pyramids

Things were going very quietly, founding cities and I decided to built up a bit more before starting the war rampage.

In 200BC I discovered Alphabet and used the opportunity to get some techs that I had ignored, by trading some low techs I was able to get, Archery, Iron working, hunting, sailing and fishing.

In 175AD Judaism spread to the malinese city of Djenne and mansa adopted Judaism as his state religion, I then decided to keep him happy and Jewish and use his nation as a buffer on my flank while I destroyed everyone else.

Thus ends the era of expansion, more to follow soon

The build up continued and in 640AD Julius Ceasar declared war on Mansa Musa, in 700AD Mansa asked me to go to war with Julius and I accepted, but as this was not part of my plan I left this as a phoney war until 980 when peace was signed

The build up of macemen and catapults continued and in 1060 war was declared on Saladin, it was payback for founding hinduism 1 turn before me.

The attack went in with Mecca falling in 1140AD, Medina following in 1180 the war was a one sided affair with the Arabian Civilisation destroyed in 1350AD.

By now I have discovered a massive tech lead over my opponents, so I took the opportunity to rush for military tradition and hit the greeks and mongols with cavalry while they still were defending with longbows.

In 1480AD I declared war on the greeks rushing in and taking sparta, athens, thermopyle, corith and in 1585 Delphi and the fall of the greek civilization.

After a period of healing war was declared on Kublai Khan in 1615 and in 1630 the mongols counter attack and take Delphi while I capture Samarqand and New Sarai, things are going well until 1680, when I am running out of units to continue the offensive and I notice the first Mongol cavalry, so I seek peace with the Mongols and begin the 'golden peace era'

I had been saving up my great leaders and in 1695 the first great age begins and, cities are set to happiness improvements and fresh units, once the first golden age is over I have enough great people to start a new one.

All is going well until 1770 when Cyrus declares war on Kublai
