Epic 9 - The best part.

I didn't complete Epic 9 but I feel there's something very important about it which I don't think anyone has mentioned, or possibly even noticed.

Just north of the starting landmass was an island. Shaped like a horse.

lol

I happened to scout that little gem out very early on, with my first workboat. I couldn't help but laugh every time I saw it. I dunno if it was doctored in by Sirian, or just a bizzare coincidence. Or maybe I'm just seeing shapes in clouds smoke.

It looks like an elephant to me, Sirian should have put Ivory in the middle...
For oldtimer, it could have been like in a very very old Civ3 Epic (Edit : Epic XI http://realmsbeyond.net/civ/epic11.html ) where all the oil were in (Zulus?) OIL archipelago (but unfortunatly, exhausting and moving ressource at that time made that lovely idea not permanent).

I actually settled a GP farm city in the SE corner of that island, I thought it looked more like an elephant than a horse too though.

I guess I see a headless Pillsbury dough boy carrying his own head. I shudder to think of what that interpretation of this Rorschach test reveals about me. Given the theme of the epic, it probably should be considered a horse.
