I beelined straight to iron so that I would be in time to grab it with my second city. Built enough terrain improvements for the cities to work then set my workers to chopping trees and building roads towards the enemy.

Build Barracks and lots of praetorians with a couple of chariots to scout, pillage and pick off loose axes.

Well, that cleared things up. Kept these two cities for production. I figured there would be some wacky AI civ combos too and Tokugawa of Native America was next. I lost several elite units in the struggle against his super-archers and dog soldiers. During this war a GG was spawned and became a Medic 3 chariot to keep the troops rolling on as quickly as possible while I trained a new army to take out Hatshepsut of Arabia. She was basically a free kill without any warrior traits or relevant UU.

Note I hadn't bothered to build any economy at all and the empire is hugely in debt, relying on razing cities and pillaging to pay the army.
After that there was the long march to Babylon. I thought protective Bowmen might be tough to get through, but most of the defenders were actually melee units and axes were not really a problem by this point in time.

Conquest in 75 BC. Thanks for the quick game Atlas, it was fun just mercilessly stomping the AIs for a change.
