Well, it's here again. Mostly the same as last year's celebration, but with the addition of a couple new quests using GW:EN's Secret Lair of the Snowmen.

This was our cape last year (iirc, it was in the old thread anyway):


We can either use the same or try something different, it's up to Hawk. Though now she can just use the guy in the hall to change the cape without having to find an emblemer in one of the major cities.

In any case, I think it'd be great for us to get together during the finale events, so we should pick a district to all hang out in. The LA events start on the hour with the Kamadan ones starting 15 min. after. Just remember there are 4 hats to get, so we'll probably need to do a bit of moving around.

Speaking of hats, it looks as though this year's hats are going to be based on the contest they had earlier; winners are posted here.

I'll try to come up with some fun pattern for the cape; I'll be online tonight, so I can do it then.

Great idea to meet up for some hat-centric fun; the international districts never seem to get much love, and they're less crowded, so how about we use them? We can figure out districts in-game.

Hope y'all were good girls and boys, and got some nice swag for Christmas! I did...

I may or may not be around for the first event at 3am, depends on what happens New Year's Eve. I'll probably be around for the events starting at noon, as well as the next one or two after that (until I finish the hat collection).

Previously, one only need to join an odd or even numbered district to get one of the 2 hats, so what's required to get all 4 hats?

Kamedan events run a quarter of an hour after Lion's Arch, so it should be possible to sit in on the LA event, get the hat, and then travel to Kamedan and get another hat.

Like the Halloween event, there'll probably be different hats for Kamedan and Lion's Arch, so to get all four you'd probably have to sit in on two events.

Like last year, the hat you get is determined by who wins the 9 rings game in the district you're in. During the finale, you stand in the circles that are on the ground just like the regular 9 rings game in Shing Jea and every time someone gets a point it gets added to the grand total for that district. Last year the districts wound up with people using the odd districts to win for Grenth and even for Dwayna so that might hold again.

Well, a few of us managed to get together for the first event in LA but one the presents started dropping the lag got horrendously bad, my ping went to over 5k at one point. That made it a bit hard to want to participate in any other finales, esp. with only 2 hats to get and the lack of participatory games like on Halloween. In any case, was fun while it lasted.
