I've no doubt you could have won from this position, since you've neutralized the most aggressive civ. I think I got lucky with GK taking a lot longer before he started sending forces in my direction in my game!

Dreylin - regarding that +2 health event you got. I had that in a similar game, decided to gamble and it nearly killed me. I had just whipped, so was suffering whip anger. The method they use to pile on the anger is to increase the whip anger counter - I had 70 turns of +4 anger from whip and experiments. The killer was that I found that the +2 health was temporary - it went away when the anger dissipated. Did you find that too?

Hrm, well I noticed that it was added to Whip anger - though it was early enough in the game that I wasn't whipping myself - but I don't know that I checked later to make sure the Health was still there. I'll have a look this evening and let you know....

I'm curious too about whether or not the health benefit faded.

I'm not familiar with reading the event listings. Since there's no time limit given on the +1/+2 healthy faces, does that mean it's permanent? Does it apply to cities that are founded after the event happens?

I think that the +2 for "Civilization" must be the results of the event, since we're not Expansive.
