Korea, on the other hand, is coming through in both games... Slowwalk are definitely putting in the time on their analysis, looking good there.

Yeah, I'm liking both team cat and Xenu in the Greens, good to see their analysis. I expect them to go far. To be fair to Kuro, he's reported pretty well thus far too, but the forgetting save thing isn't a good sign for the future.
General question: Is attacking Sian with horse units going to become a meme? Kuro likes his horses, and Immortals are fun...over/under on this happening again?

It'll keep happening until Sian beats someone off... which I do expect him to figure out eventually.

Poor guy, we're going to make him compulsively beeline pikemen when he plays Civ.

So, anyone care to venture a guess on how the cat team's wonder chase will go? I am actually amused that both Suleiman teams are going for Oracle -> MC -> Engineers -> (???) -> Profit.

I love the idea to run engineers in two towns for a quick guilds. Very creative!

Yeah, but the list of techs they need naturally is not conducive to growth. And worse, they'd have to avoid Math else Construction and Engineering block Guilds. That means no currency or calendar...
I'll be surprised if they decide to go with that plan.

re: Team NoGas' plans. Can they really win the wonders with even the dedicated beeline? I'd think that if FDR (especially with Mack's micro) wants the GLH, FDR gets the GLH, same with Stonehenge. The No7 planned Oracle gambit is a little further into the future and thus more flexible. The GLH isn't a win button on this map, but it'd be pretty huge.
I'm curious what Sian intends to make, too, but we'll probably have to read the cats' thread for any information on the matter.

As there has been a little speculation on the players' part about the ice, here's the lurker-eye view of the ice blockers. I wanted to reduce the galley opportunities and make galleons at least somewhat relevant, so the icebergs block coastal passages between X vertices. The options for pre-Astronomy boating are thus either settling or forting the wet wheat tiles, or making a longer fort canal series in the tundra areas:
I am amused by the difference in ETAs for the 'henge between Novice and Gaspar. Turn 38, with no creative teams, ain't happening.
