Adv 50: Ronald beats Brennus by more than 100 years

Thanks to soooo for a new adventure - sack Rome

My goal for this adventure was to beat the actual sacking of Rome if possible. Therefore I took a minimalistic approach: I built only two more cities and then produced horse archers for quick movement.

Rome was destroyed in 525 BC

I don't know how to display these screenshots. Who can help me?

Hopefully there will be some more civ4 adventures or even some epics.

The [img][/img] tag puts the pictures in forum posts, when you hover over your picture in photobucket I think it's the last of the four options.

Wonder if you have a count of how many HA's you attacked with, and what Rome's garrison was?

EDIT: heh, yeah Speaker got it. I put the tags verbatim, and as a result the forums hid them smile

Just put ["img"] and ["/img"] around your picture links (remove the quotes).

The garrison was originally 3 praetorians and 1 archer, but only the AI knows why, it moved 1 out of Rome before I attacked. So when I attacked it was 2 praetorians and 1 archer, I attacked with 8 horse archers, lost 4.

I totally built 14 HA had a stack of 5 HA for a second attack in about 4 turns but I really wanted to beat the original date of sacking Rome and with the light garrison I was pretty sure to succeed.

@ speaker: Thanks with the pictures

Additionally, there was a spot close to Rome which had no Roman culture. So I could move there without declaring war and it took only 2 turns after war declaration before Rome fell.

It just was outside the BFC of all the Roman cities. I had open borders with Rome, moved there and then declared war.
