Well I don't know what spamming is going on in the other threads, when we don't have even start screenshots yet smile

As the thread title says, I'm Kublai Khan (Agg/Cre) of Netherlands (Agri, Fishing, Dike, East Indiaman). I believe RBMod makes only one difference to this combo compared to vanilla BtS: there are no more cheap Libraries for Cre. I should have options to either go for an early war, or beeline Astronomy

Other players:

Ceiliazul - Louis XIV (Cre/Ind) of Egypt (Agri, Wheel, Obelisk, War Chariot)
Plako - Mao Zedong (Exp/Pro) of Spain (Fishing, Myst, Citadel, Conquistador)
Commodore - Tokugawa (Agg/Pro) of Zulu (Agri, Hunting, Ikhanda, Impi)
Cyneheard - Lincoln (Phi/Cha) of Byzantium (Wheel, Myst, Hippodrome, Cataphract)
Dazed/Scooter - Stalin (Agg/Ind) of Vikings (Fishing, Hunting, Trade Post, Berserker)
Pindicator/Regoarrarr - Bismarck (Exp/Ind) of Ethiopia (Hunting, Mining, Stele, Oromo Warrior)
Azza - Shaka (Agg/Exp) of India (Wheel, Myst, Mausoleum, Fast Worker)
Krill - Brennus (Spi/Cha) of Aztec (Wheel, Myst, Sacrificial Altar, Jaguar)
BrickAstley - Suleiman (Phi/Imp) of Sumeria (Agri, Wheel, Ziggurat, Vulture)

Funny that RNG decided not to give a Fin leader to anyone. I won't post a detailed analysis this time, but I think it's obvious that Azza got the most powerful combo, if he can leverage it. Krill's is probably the weakest, but no one really stands out

Thank you thank you smile

Hmmm.... Kublai Khan is pleased to see plains all around, grassland is for sissies. And forests, so many forests, so many aggressive creations can be built with them!

The way I see it, Warrior moves NW. Probably SIP. Probably WB first and research Mining-BW before Hunting. I expect to move the capital, a capital surrounded by plains and coastal tiles probably won't work well long-term. But it should be ok at the start

Tried to think of an opening plan, then realised it's useless. Seven said in the org thread:

Quote:Everyone has a land tile that's 4f or better when improved with ancient era techs only

This means there is another food resource I can't see in the screenshot. Without this knowledge, I can't choose the opening build. I would prefer to research Mining-BW first. If my food resource is Agri-based, I can easily do that, building Worker-Workboat-probably Worker or Settler. Otherwise... probably BW before Hunting/AH is still better, which means the build should be Workboat-Worker-Warrior (?)-Worker

This promises to be interesting...

I don't think there was any option other than SIP after the Warrior moved and saw nothing of interest. The initial location was ok even without the corn, although I did count on this corn because of Seven's map comments

After researching Mining-BW, I will have the full range of option, from ultimate rex to early aggression. BW is a key tech, even with nerfed Slavery, and especially with all the forests I have around. Which is why I wanted to go directly for BW, without distractions like Hunting

Speaking of Slavery nerf, I said in PBEM20 that I still think 2-pop whips are very viable. Yes, they now give 50h instead of 60, but it's still a good food to hammers conversion. But the more pop you whip off, the less effective it becomes, so if I'm food rich and production poor, the game will be about setting up those 2-pop whips. But the initial screenshot looks like the land is more food-limited. We'll see what news the scout brings

Lots of desert around. Angry about lack of aggression around, Kublai Khan charges into a tribal village. 40g in loot, that's something Keshik riders could tell their children about.... but this sissy civilisation he leads cannot builds Keshiks, and keeps talking about big strong ships! What is it all about?? A man needs a good horse, not a sheep! Especially in a desert

Scouts bring news of a huge river with fertile banks. Kublai Khan is more excited to hear that another tribal village was found, and one again is getting ready for an assault

Wise men excitedly tell the khan that they now know how to mine hills. They say that some hills have valuable metals inside, these metals can be used to make better weapons, and in 16 turns they may even find out how. This sounds like nonsense to the khan, why would metal be inside hills, who put it there? But a prospect of better weapons sure is a worth proposition. So he tells the wise men to find out how to do it, or be slain

This village is not any better than the last one, just 40g in loot. Kublai Khan decides to tell a passing lion how annoyed he is
