Free Web Hosting

Hi,

I'm sure this question has been asked many times before, but as I gear up to start writing reports for the Civ4 Adventures and Epics, I'm in search of a good place to go for free webhosting. A decent amount of storage space would be nice so I can leave the reports up for awhile. Any help will be much appreciated!

If you're just looking for a place for pics and stuff for reports posted here, I believe we now have some image hosting space for just such a purpose. You might be able to put more than just images there if you are looking for someplace to store a webpage... probably KoP can answer better than I.

I am not opposed to the idea of hosting another RBer's site, but it would have to be considered case by case.



While we are at it, I think it would be a good idea to have a links page from our portal (front door) of all RBer created/related sites, game related or otherwise... Such as Jaffa's http://dailyanimals.net

There are many good free web hosts on the net, just search for ones with restrictions you can live with. If you are looking for a paid solution, our server host Digix is a good person to work with. Good luck on your search

I have another site dedicated to my Java implementation of the card game San Juan, featuring some genetically evolved AIs. It has not much to do with RB, except maybe that it's a game...don't know if you want to put it on the portal as well. Both sites are not hyperlinked to each other, because they're not connected thematically in any way, and because on one site my Civ IV nickname "Kylearan" is used and on the other one my real name. The San Juan site is at http://www.compoundeye.net/jsanjuan/

You could try Zap3X - you'll get a URL of yoursite.zap3x.com, but the storage is decent and there are no ads. You get 100 MB of space, unlimited bandwidth (!!), and FTP access. Overall, it's the best host I've found when I searched for free ones.
