Recap of recent messages between us and CFC prior to T60. Not going to paste every single email/chat here, but all are accessible in the team email account. The last three, the latter of which will be responded to soon.
CFC Wrote:scooter/RB,
Thank you for your information in regards to the mountains, and we're looking forward to when you guys have explored a bit more so we can pool even more information.
In accordance with our treaty, we want to let you know that we met Team WPC this turn (t46), and that you can meet them by sending a unit directly NE from your gold mine. At the moment there is 7 tiles from the very NE tip of your borders until you should reach their border, directly NE (moving 9 all the time). The only interesting feature worth mentioning about the land between your borders seems to be some dyes a few tiles away from WPCs borders.
RB Wrote:Caledorn/CFC,
First off, sorry for the delay! Our forums at RB are having some major technical difficulties right now. I had a draft response to you saved on our internal forums, and I was about to send it when the forums went down, and they've been down close to 2 days now. The problem is pretty significant, so we're still trying to export the forums right now. Today someone created a temporary forum for us, and we're in the process of setting up a place for us to discuss. Hopefully we can restore our old forums sometime soon. In the meantime, I'll try to rewrite the draft I had for you guys as best as I can.
Thanks so much for the notification of meeting WPC. If you could give them directions on how to reach us too, that would be wonderful. Do you have much of a read on these guys? I personally don't really know them at all, but I believe a few members of my team have at least heard of their forums before.
Thanks!

CFC Wrote:scooter/RB,
Congratulations on founding Hinduism and completing the Stonehenge. We hope your forums are back up and running smoothly, and that your team is fully back in business again.
Luckily, we can report that our relationships with WPC have been established smoothly, considering their scary UU that can be built without the need for any strategic resource. They have shared some info about their surroundings, which seems similar to ours based on their descriptions.
We met Team Spanish Apolyton on turn 54, and they are located east of our lands, so quite a distance away for you to travel if you want to go eastwards to meet them. As we do not yet know how the toroidal map wraps, they may be the team that are located west of you though, so we hope you can scout westwards of your lands to see what team may be located there. If you actively want to scout for the Spanish team, you should go a bit south of where we met you (like 8 tiles or so) and directly west.
We have also met a warrior from Team UCiv in the middle of the wilderness this turn (T56) - we will get back to you as soon as we have gotten in touch with them and know more.

RB Wrote:Greetings from Team RB!
We see your Quechua has wandered up to our borders - really glad to meet you guys. To start, we thought you should know we do have a very active German player on our team, so if you would prefer us to translate our messages into German then he may be able to help out.
You are the second team we have met. We also met CFC to our southeast. We have been told that WePlayCiv is to our northeast, but we have not met them yet. If you would like directions on where to send your Quechua to meet the others, let me know and I will send that to you. Where are you guys in relation to your Quechua?
Hope the game has gone well for you so far.
Thanks,

German Team Wrote:Hi RBs,
sorry for the delay.
We are located to the north of you. We would like to establish trading
routes between our countries. Do you already have a harbour city
ashore the eastern sea?
We also could use the river near our Quechua Hoffmann Helm.
In addition, we would be happy to sign a non-aggression treaty
effective until turn 150.
We could arrange our research such that both nation profit most from
the shadow bonus; Schattenforschungsbonus in german, how is it called
in the english community?
It's true, WPC is located to the east of us. And Apolyton came to our
country from the west.
greetings

RB Wrote:CivForum.de,
Thank you so much for writing back to us. I talked with my team, and we accept your offer of a NAP until T150. I don't see any reason why we need to fight each other, we should have peace . I also think getting trade routes through the river would be a great idea. Would you like to include a "no scouting" rule for open borders so that we get trade routes but avoid going in each other's land? We will be flexible with you and go with whatever you would like on that.
We aren't sure what you mean by "eastern sea"... We do have one immediately to our west, if that's the one you are talking about? To our east we have not seen any water yet, but we haven't scouted very far in that direction either. Where is this sea compared to your Quechua? The "Schattenforschungsbonus" is called "known tech bonus" in most of the English-speaking forums. I talked to the team, but I think they are not sure if it's useful enough. There's a lot of teams playing here, and the bonus is divided by the number of teams in the game... So the bonus is very, very small. I think both of our teams will get a lot more value from trade routes with each other, so let's get those.
Finally, we thank you for telling us where Apolyton is located! We have also met team CFC, and they are to our southeast. They found us, so we have not actually seen their land - they have scouted very far and have met more teams than us.
Thank you!

Courtesy notice sent to German team:
RB Wrote:Hi - my teammates say that the city border by your Quechua will expand at the end of this turn. You may want to move with that in mind so your Quecha doesn't get pushed somewhere that you don't want. It may not affect anything, just thought you would appreciate knowing in advance.

Wanted to notify you that we have finally met WePlayCiv. Also, I did hear back from the German team finally. They said they are roughly to our north, and they have met Apolyton who is to their west. Our very basic guess on placement looks something like this:
oo1ooo2ooo3o
4ooo5ooo6ooo
oo7ooo8ooo9o
1 - Germans
2 - WPC
3 - Apolyton
5 - RB
8 - CFC
9 - Spanish Apolyton
How does that match up with what you guys have seen? The exact positioning is really rough and not completely confirmed, but that's our best guess at the moment. How are things going with UCiv? Learn anything interesting from them?
Thanks!

Initial message sent to WPC:
RB Wrote:WePlayCiv,
Greetings! Our scouting spear has found your borders, and we are very happy to have finally met you. Big credit to the kindness of team CFC for explaining to us how to meet you. How has your game gone so far? We have met CFC, Civforum.de, and now your team in that order. Have you met anybody besides CFC? The German team is some distance to your west, but we haven't figured out their exact location just yet - they found us and not vice versa.
Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.
Thanks!

So you know - the email address you have listed at CFC is wrong it seems. I initially sent this email to that address, but I got an error saying the email address does not exist. I got this address from a member of team CFC. Let me know if you'd like me to use a different address for contacting you.
Thanks!

I got this by a chat with Caledorn. One really interesting tidbit from the chat:
Chat with CFC/Caledorn Wrote:scooter: hey if you happen to be around - do you have the email address for WePlayCiv? The one they have posted at CFC is apparently wrong.
caledorn: Let me check
scooter: thanks!
caledorn: I have no idea if this is their ambassador to all teams. But our ambassador has kodama402@gmail.com
CFC has a different diplomat for us than WPC. Caledorn has been super nice, but he's possibly not their all-empowered diplomat. Just something to keep in mind down the road.

This address is OK.
We have to fix the address in CFC, it seems.
I'll check it out.

Finally got a real reply from WPC:
Tatu/WePlayCiv Wrote:Greetings,
First I would like to offer my apologies for late reply. We had a little turn player worries, so I could not concentrate on the diplo as much as I would have wanted.
I'm the Foreign Minister of team WePlayCiv and in charge of communications to nations near and far. I hope to have fruitful discussions with you.
Indeed team CFC was very helpful and I have thanked them for it. Sorry for the inconvenience due the botched e-mail address.
Game has been quite good indeed. Our brave people have killed some animals, built some nice (but rather smelly) houses, multiplied like rabbits and even slayed some dirty barbarians. We have written many songs about the glorious adventures of our noble warriors.
How about the daily lives of your most esteemed people?
We have located the German team. They are almost perfectly west from us.
The other teams we have contact are you and CFC, indeed.
Our fearless scouts continue to explore this world we inhabit and share to find other nations and expand our understanding.
Looking forward to long and prosperous relationship between our people.
Best regards,
Tatu
