Now this is a good idea - we mostly run Organised Religion to build Forges, libraries, granaries etc but then when we need a burst of border pops, units, settlers and workers we run Pacifism and Caste and lots of specialists for five turns.

If we produce a few great people golden ages are good, I'd also like to bulb Astronomy (as it doesn't get a pre-req bonus) which might become necessary pretty early on this map. But what other bulbs/shrines/merchant missions do we want to pursue?

Tech trading isn't available until Paper, so we need to rely on C&D for some time yet..

If we go for Alphabet next and offer Ichabod open borders Lunch is in a good position to charge through his territory to meet Scooticator and whoever else he borders...

FakeEdit: Canada? Eh?

Yeah, I definitely agree that if we manage to do our Philo bulb we should utilize Paficism for other GP plays. Just ment that getting Pacifism is not alone worth 1200 beakers this early. Astronomy bulb sounds good, powering through expensive Education is always solid.. Hmm.. We have still some time to come up with something creative.

Oh yeah, that explains it.. duh

Sounds reasonable! I guess we also want to start trading maps pretty soon too in order to make it easier for getting more foreign trade routes and for a small chance of getting circumnavigation via trades.. crazyeye

Just a quickie - I want to get LP the axe one more XP for Woody II, so I'll move Rowain SW and LP NW towards the spear, unless you object...

I checked what happened in the game and suttree is trying to attack our backline cities (SE-SE of Dunkirk). We should be fine but we must do the following:

- Move a spear W of Hastings (it can attack a chariot next turn if suttree advances)
- Finish bowman in Dunkirk (due to the annoying turn order we won't have time to put our hammers into spear and whip it if suttree advances
- Move the warrior in Endor S-S (just to have a back-up unit in Dunkirk in case we get really unlucky combat rolls.

This is slightly annoying but on the other hand good news when considering the safety of our city J (2 chariots less to fork our cities and I think we now know the location of all his chariots). As said, if suttree advances, we should be able to kill one chariot next turn and killing the other chariot before it does much damage should be doable as well.

I left some signs regarding these and some other movements. In other news:
- Lord Parkin won against the barb spear
- Someone built MoM. Based on score increase it could have been plako. I truly hope that building wonders has compromised his expansion and someone punishes him for it.

Btw, I think we should change our unit composition in the east so that we have 2x bowmen and 1x spear in City J. Keeping both of our axes in our zone defense force seems better to me. Because of suttree's latest actions we might even want to put the spear into the zone defense team too.

Fine for me! Spear will still probably attack Rowain though?

Probably. Suttree hasn't added to his force - 3 axe, 1 chariot, 1 spear - so I'll settle Jamestown.

I don't want to explore jungle with Lunch BTW, he's too useful using other Civ's roads.

Sounds reasonable, due to barb spear's fog busting I though that the suggested move was fairly safe (but not totally safe)

You noticed suttree's 2 chariots, right? mischief

Ah, didn't see this straight away.

I don't really understand how he 1-pop whipped the third chariot, so it must have been a 2-pop whip...

Btw, I am not sure we should chop those bananas now. It would be a fairly stupid move from suttree to advance towards Dunkirk, but if he moves W or NW that Jungle prevents him from running deeper into our territory and maybe allows our spear to catch up and kill both of those chariots. This is highly speculative of course.
