2014 EPL Fantasy Football (with a draft!)

Hey guys,

Capitalising on the interest in the world cup, I was wondering how many of you would be interested in doing Fantasy Football for the English Premier League this year?

I have found a free website that does draft-style leagues and I would like to try it in that format to see if it holds interest better and gets more competition going.

I can set up a league pretty quickly if there is significant interest?

Given the matches start on 16th August, any draft would need to be before that point.

I'm also thinking of having the draft sometime either on Saturday (9th) or Sunday (10th) as its the last weekend before the season.

Let me know if there are any real objections to that

Sounds good. Any tips for those of us who've never drafted before?

I've never drafted EPL before so its a new experience for me too.

From my experience in drafting NFL teams, I would say go mining a bit through the player lists and look for some potential 'bargains' who may go unnoticed.

There doesn't seem to be mock drafts available to figure out where the best players will fall, but I imagine it will be most of the top midfielders & strikers first as goalscorers and assist makers are likely to end up with the most points at the end of the year.
